If you're going to waste a coach to just use on Tight ends then get a stud recruiter. He's a waste on the staff. We need as many boots in the ground as possible.

I am not sure why you all assumed that Rhoads is not serious about winning. He is. He's a big time football coach. He makes mistakes, but he isn't doing this job just for kicks and giggles. He wants to win.

I don't feel particularly good about two guys losing their jobs. But I think it is a necessary move. If nothing else, it gives all the QB's a fresh start with the new guy and I think that is good.

You know I hadn't thought about Pope getting the hook, but given how our stable of running backs was seemingly so disjointed at times...it makes some sense. I still think Klenakis was doing more of the play-calling these past couple weeks and would like to see him get a shot, but if not him then at least we have something to speculate about for a little bit this offseason.

Did anyone else notice the butt chewing CPR gave Klenakis after a false start penalty late in regulation? (against on O lineman)

Looks like Christmas came early for a majority of the CF membership today.

Holy crap.

Pope surprises me. Maybe he was the one that was making the stupid runningback changes that everyone was questioning midseason?

That would be my guess. It only took him 3 games to decide which back was his go to guy. Should have been decided by the start of the season. Remember a little interview just after the season got under way, and he said he was waiting for someone to step up and claim the spot. But it was literally several weeks into the season before Pope made a decision. He even had two early byes and it still wasn't figured out until just before the Tulsa game.

Funny, those of us that did say we trusted him to take this program in the right direction were labeled as sunshine pumpers. Who knows how it'll play out with the new OC, however, Rhoads showed he's more about winning than being loyal to his buds, as some claimed he was. He has taken a step in the right direction. In Rhoads I trust.

Glad to see Rhoads evaluating the staff. I really hope they have a strong candidate in mind as a replacement. This hire could ultimately determine Rhoads fate as coach here!

Guessing that a replacement has already accepted the position but wanted his own running backs coach hired. Total speculation.

I wonder if we will see a couple more firings. I think Rhoads had these two in mind for awhile now and didn't need to review much tape, but with other coaches he may have to.

Glad to see this and hope it's true. With as much as Mess was paid, money shouldn't be a huge problem. CPR just needs to find the right guy.

Need to find a guy that doesn't over complicate things either. Herman was a huge hire but I think his brain was to much at times.

That would be so totally disrespectful of CPR that I could never see him doing that. First off having a replacement in place before you officially fire someone? And then firing another coach just because this new OC wants to bring someone along? I don't see CPR giving anyone that kind of shabby treatment.
