I think the assist number change (under 2 to 4) for a center is a breakout statistic.

I'm not arguing with your point. I just want to point out that regardless of what position Fred is putting him in the lineup (5) he is a power forward. Fred really doesn't have a center on the roster.

EDIT: I suppose Percy is probably arguably a center.

Wouldn't that show even more that he hasn't improved? If his numbers are almost equal, and he didn't get the lions share of them until later into the season, that would mean his numbers are more weighted toward the end of last season, as opposed to evenly distributed per game throughout the whole season.

Don't get me wrong, I love the kid and think he's a great Cyclone and think he'll bust out big here any game. Just playing devil's advocate.

You make good points, so I had to go and look up his Big 2 games only conference performance (thus post Iowa breakout when we learned he can change a game by helping us spread the floor) and his points per game don't really change that much. I am not sure his minutes changed that awful much as he often had foul trouble.

I would say that he hasn't spread out the floor quite AS much this year because he hasn't been much of a threat outside. Luckily, he hasn't needed to be because other guys have stepped it up from behind the arc. However, he's become a much better passer and can still be effective as a point/forward in luring out the big defender for guys like Kane to drive through the lane strong to draw fouls off a pass or set up a 3.

I think he's very unselfish and knows when he needs to take games over. He did it against Michigan and BYU when other guys got into foul trouble. His numbers could be down because he seems to get into foul trouble a lot maybe limiting his minutes. I haven't looked at statistics, but maybe look at mpg vs ppg to see what's changed. Course, foul trouble was a routine problem last year too.

Three games we really needed him to and lo and behold Georges came up big-time in all three.

This should be a good one, and the most-hyped cy-hawk game in a long time. Love that it is at Hilton too, excited for Friday.

My crazy prediction for the game: Matt Thomas' coming out party. Five 3s, 25 points. Including the game winner.

Well Jok is better than him according to Hawk fans so I can only imagine what numbers he will put up in his 5 minutes of PT

Iowa is a top 20 team, but I feel talent beats depth, and we have talent, while they have depth. There bigs are big, but not as offensively gifted. We will only need to worry about aaron white and Marble, but I feel that is about it. Defensively we match up almost perfectly to stop them. Honestly I think Woodbury is almost a nonfactor since he is out for a huge portion of the game. GO CLONES.

I assume Marble will be guarding Kane (and vice versa). If so Kane should take it to Marble the whole time and try to get some fouls on him.

Ummmm, no we don't. We say that about playing ISU. LSU is saying that about playing Iowa in the Outback, and ISU says it about playing UNI.

Actually I think Fran said it about UNI, that's why we have this dumb Big Four thing.

I know how tough Hilton is, especially when the Clones are good. But to say Iowa has no chance of winning by 15 in a rivalry game is just overconfidence. That's like saying UNC could never win at Cameron Indoor by more than 15, but they have. I'm not saying that it's going to happen, just that it could.

That would be ISU's worst home loss since McD. Possible, but probably about as likely as getting struck by lightening.

Don't ever say those words again. I thought I had permanently blocked that man / torpedo out of my conscious and then you ....Shudder.... can you imagine where we'd be right now if.... oh no ..... flashbacks.

If they put Marble on Kane I think that is exactly what happens and as deep as Iowa is, Marble is their most irreplaceable player. The good thing for us is that they have no other guard to matchup with him. Gessell isn't going to guard him and Basabe or White sure as hell won't.

If Marble goes cold or gets in foul trouble I don't think Iowa has much of a chance, that will be a key for ISU. He is their one guy who can create points by himself off the dribble or really attacking. Most of the rest of their team scores (and very well) off of FTs, transition buckets, and open 3s.

The matchups will be really fun in this one.
