Just saying that nobody refers to MSU/Duke/Kansas/etc. as "dangerous". Not that they aren't, but with programs like that, it kind of goes without saying. With schools like Iowa and ISU, it usually has to be pointed out because most fans don't just assume it like they do for the blue bloods.

I never said he was a star. But he's a good role player who does provide good depth. Most teams would gladly take a guy like him to bring in off the bench.

Well, I guess he wouldn't play for a team like Wisconsin (I mean, what would they even do with a guy who's great at running a fast break?). But a lot of teams would take a good defender who is very good at setting his teammates up on offense. Especially as like their eighth guy off the bench.
The guy averaged 4.3 pts per game last year and was a turnover machine down the stretch. Plus he shot 37% from the floor. Are we talking about that Anthony Clemmons?
Great, we'll agree that Iowa's 8th best player is marginal and would play on some teams and not for others. Concerning numbers 9 and 10 (Jok and your starting center), there isn't a case to be made that they are "good depth".
I my mind Iowa has 7 (maybe 8) guys, which puts them right in line with every other college team in America. In the meantime, I look forward to hearing/reading all about the incredible depth Fran has assembled.
Their depth is overblown when they start a guy who gets 3rd stringer #s. If we started Gibson or Edozie but only played him 10 minutes a game...yeah our bench would suddenly look real deep bringing Hogue, Ejim or Niang off it. Iowa's team length is where they are legit scary and out of the ordinary, Baylor teams we've faced are comparable in length but Iowa plays us with much more intensity than Baylor.

I've said multiple times that his value doesn't come from scoring, yet you try and refute that by throwing his scoring/shooting numbers back at me?
As for his turnovers, he had just 7 games with more than 2 turnovers all season and never had more than 5 (which came in one of the worst-officiated games I've ever seen, against MSU in the BTT; that was also the only game he had with that many miscues).
In games against tournament teams last year, Clemmons had a respectable 45-26 A/TO. I'd certainly take production like that from a guy who's my 8th-best player.
He averaged 1.7 turnovers per game and only played 16 mins/game. That is HORRIBLE. He averaged the second most TO's for the team in ONLY 16 MINUTES PER GAME.
He also averaged 2.8 assists per game in the same time frame (including 3.75 against tournament teams), which was second on the team. Marble had 3 apg while playing 30 minutes and Gesell had 2.6 while playing 25 minutes. Of all the guys who played less than 20 mpg, the next closest guy in assists was McCabe at 1.3.
He definitely made some mistakes, but how many freshmen don't? He made more plays than he did mistakes, especially against the best teams he faced last year.
