Have you ever walked out of a movie?

Some people just don't have the attention span to watch a movie like that.

My 4 year old couldn't, I'm sure.
I mean I understand if you don't like the movie, it's not for everyone obviously. But you're only like 10-15% into the movie at that point...

The last movie we went to we had to get up and move because the older lady in front of him had some rank hair product that was making both of my kids sick.

When Mrs. Velo and I went to see Saving Private Ryan we sat down in the middle of a half full theater. It quickly filled up and this group of people sat in the last group of seats right next to me. The woman immediately next to me apparently took a bath in perfume. It was so bad I immediately started looking around for another seat - even a single - but there wasn't one seat to be had. If you remember how that movie starts with the troops puking on the boat, the jerky cinematography, the viciously loud sound track and the graphic, bloody violence...well let's just say all of that together with an absolutely overpowering smell of perfume made me think I was going to lose my dinner for the first 20 minutes of the movie.

That's pretty bad.

This woman's hair scent wasn't perfumy at all though. It was oily and just wrong. We ended up having to sit really close to the screen but it was better than both boys having the entire movie ruined.

Why the hell does it matter if I walked out in the first 30 min? I never wanted to go in first place as I do not like that genre of movie. I was maybe 15 or 16 and it cost me 2 bucks. I left and cruised the loop with some girls like a normal teenager, which at that time(and still to this day) seemed way more interesting than a nerdy movie I had no interest in watching.

Cyborg with Jean Claude Van Damme. Would have walked out of Gods and Generals but I saw it on video.

Problems with Gods and Generals
* Didn't live up to the quality of Gettysburg
* skimped on extras and tried to make up for it with repeated CGI of the same troops. Ruined the illusion of mass battles.
* Got the history wrong repeatedly everytime the director veered from the book
* Fake beards looked even worse than in Gettysburg... which I didn't think was possible

It doesn't matter, it's just weird that you would go if you didn't want to only to leave before you could possibly make a decision about whether it was any good or not.

Only movie I have ever walked out of was the first Lord of the Rings...best decision of my life. And at the time movies in my hometown only cost $2 or $2.50. That series has gone on WAY WAY WAY too long.

Seriously?? That makes zero sense. Where did I say I walked about because it was overplayed? I went the first week it came out back in 2001 and left 30 min in. It would not be possible for me to leave because it was overplayed.

That was my point. It sure read like the two bolded comments were associated with one another, like that was your reasoning for walking out. If it wasn't, can I ask what was?

EDIT: I guess you kinda answered why. And you called it nerdy and pointed out that you instead cruised with a girl so I know you are totally the coolest.

Ok, last time I am going to explain myself. I went with two of my buddies. I grew up in Clarion(3000 people) and at that point there were no sports going on and I didn't drink so there wasn't much else to do on a Friday night. I cannot stand fantasy or sci fi movies but I went anyway because I didn't want to sit at home with my parents. I paid $2 and sat there for 30 min or so and was just not interested whatsoever. I left and cruised the loop with some girls because it seemed much more interesting. Plain and simple, I never intended to enjoy the movie so I had no issue leaving.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Not because it was bad. The lady friend was jus REALLY frisky at that time.

Oh, so she wanted to see your hidden dragon?

Reminds me of a story about my mom. We went to see Temple of Doom at the drive in. My mom fell asleep and ever since then we've made fun of her. If she thinks somethings boring we ask her if it's as "boring" as Temple of Doom.

Went to college with a girl who freely admitted falling asleep at the original Jurassic Park in the theater. How does one do that?

This woman's hair scent wasn't perfumy at all though. It was oily and just wrong. We ended up having to sit really close to the screen but it was better than both boys having the entire movie ruined.

Had she just gotten her hair permed? That smell is REALLY pungent.

I wanted to walk out of "The Expendables", didn't feel totally well, but husband wanted to stay. I guess I took one for the team.

WHAAAA? That's one of my top ten best movies of all time! You need to go back and watch the whole thing...

Only once: for "Wild at Heart" with Nicholas Cage and Laura Dern. I lasted about 20 minutes and couldn't take it anymore. Don't even remember how I got talked into going to that one in the first place.

I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to going to see a movie in the theater. If I am not super eager to see it immediately when it comes out, I'm probably not going to bother. This (going to the theater) happens maybe twice a year. To me, most films just aren't worth paying that much money to sit with a bunch of strangers who don't understand the concept of "you're not in your living room - STFU!!"

Apparently the girl was a "crouching tiger" RAAAWR!

It sounds bad, but the lady was ethnic so I have no idea what she had in her hair. Nasty though.

I love movies. I really love off-beat movies at The Fleur. I've never walked out - but I actually got mad at myself for not walking out in the middle of The Tree of Life. I became resolute that I had to watch the rest of it because somehow, it would all eventually be explained. Ahhhh, no.

And Pulp Fiction. What a sucky, sucky movie.

Me and some guys went to see that johnny Knoxville movie where he sneaks into the special Olympics. It was a dumb movie and our next stop was the casino.
