I get around
Some day when dean is older and wiser he will remember back and think, "man Nick Beary, that was really bush thing to do!"

His last known address was in West Des Moines. You don't suppose that he was living in his Mom's basement and working part time at McDonalds? TV news just mentioned that he is in Mexico. He'll get tired of that after a while.

Since Hawks don't lock their doors I am road tripping down from Minnesota this evening and breaking into the trailers of the Hawk trolls here. Not much interested in their Hawk gear from Walmart but vandalizing their TVs so they can't watch their "big" bowl game would be fun. I am bringing Max, he has experience in this stuff.

I'm spending Christmas with extended family, most of whom are hawk fans, so I've made sure to put locks on my bags as a safety precaution. I would suggest the rest of you do the same

There are no hawks in my extended family. My ancestors were wise and never inbred.

Thinking it through, I'd think that the visiting team is given a set of keys well before the game so as to have the team managers move the equipment and players gear into the locker before the players get anywhere near the stadium. These managers would also want to completely control access so helmets and jerseys wouldn't be stolen or any vandalizing would take place. I don't believe that the visiting team would want the home team or even a neutral party to decide who and when anybody can have access to the locker room. I don't think the visiting team wants to be restricted before, during, or after the game by well-meaning security people who would slow things down. Accordingly, the punishment goes to the thief and the blame, if any, would go to the equipment mangers.

So ISU lets fans into the locker rooms. This guy had ZERO affiliation with either team. So basically he walked in off the streets, past crack security, into the locker room, stole the property, and walked out. What does it matter if he went to college at Coe, ISU, Iowa, UNI, Princeton, or anywhere else? He had no affiliation with the team, how does this even happen? Also why is ISU fan gleeful that it happened......the only explanation is some people are just too dense to understand when they should be embarrassed.....

He went to the U of I, ran for student government, and is a fan who has probably bought tickets from Iowa. I would say he has strong U of Iowa ties.

The best form of security is LOCKING THE DOOR. I always figured there was a manager or such in the locker room at all times prepping.

A fan robbed the locker room. A common fan off the street accessed the building and the locker room. The individual was not associated with the team in any way. Think about that for a minute.....just walked off the street and got access.

Shoot, I'd give out free bolt cutters to any hok fans who wanted in the hok locker room.

Anyone have a copy or link of the email sent out by EIU warning teams about our locker rooms?

May I suggest you send this dire warning out in some sort of email format?

From earlier in the thread so certain people (deanvogs) can see it.

The first sentence tells you all you need to know about this guy and his affiliation with UI.

For your viewing pleasure, here is Mr. Beary's candidate profile running for University of Iowa Student Senate in 2010 (found via Google search)

Seems like a great way to dead drop some drugs, doesn't it? I mean, if someone ordered Burger King with a "special" side?

There was a movie back in the 80's about a guy the ladies would call to deliver pizzas with extra anchovies. The guy from Grays Anatomy was in it.

I'm assuming you never ordered Home Town Pizza while you were in Ames. There was only one reason to get Home Town Pizza in Ames...

Re: Cy-Hawk locker room theif was former Iowa student with no connection to ISU

As they should have. Nothing has changed on that front. A person who wasn't supposed to be in that area was not only allowed in, but gained access to the locker room. To ISU's and the security firm's credit, they have since tightened security in that area but the fact that it was an iowa fan doesn't make it any less embarrassing for ISU.

This. 1000 times this. I don't give 2 craps where this guy dropped out from or who he cheers for. A common fan shouldn't have been anywhere that area. That has always been the root of the issue for me.

And given the activities a few of our players have engaged in recently, a lot of comments in this thread look a little silly. One of our football players held up and robbed a fellow student on our campus. Is that somehow better than an ex student snagging a cell phone and a few bucks? And not to mention...He remained in school and on the team.

Would anyone be surprised if Barta and KF were actually the ones behind this? Losing three straight would have been bad news for Ferentz, makes sense to plant a story like this to distract the Hok fan base.

You may want to consider getting a grip.
