I think the court should get rushed only in traditional big upsets, or just rush the court every single time. KU or UMKC. Hell, even losses just to celebrate ISU's general awesomeness.

There is no such thing as an "upset" when Iowa State is in the Top 25 and playing at home, and the 'rush' that comes with rushing the court goes away when fans rush the court every other time the wind blows out of the north.

Apparently someone doesn't grasp the concept of rankings...tonight would be considered an upset by the AP's logic.

I'm upset at your concept of an upset.

Am I doing it right? If so, I'll rush the court.

Rushing the court is bush-league when you do it every single time... When I was in school we held people back from doing it, and I was at some big games (99-2004)... Not to say the court didn't get rushed a few times, but nothing like this season.

I do get why it happens, and I'll even forgive the Iowa game slightly as I definitely went a bit nuts in that win too. But to threaten to do it every time, especially now that we're ranked in the top 10 is embarrassing.

IMO it's a combination of the younger generation's inability to delay gratification paired with the fact that there aren't any students in the stands who actually have been there before (so it's hard to ask them to act like they have). They literally have no clue that it is considered "uncool" in the basketball world.

And to any fun hater old people comments, it's not that we are old (I'm 33), or hate fun. We were just fortunate that those in front of us (who had been there before) taught us the ways of college basketball fandom... Obviously, the easy scape goat here is Natty Light and McD... That decade of misery degraded our collective basketball IQ to the point that current students think it's cool to rush the court all the time...

Let it go man, it is beyond your control and no longer involves you. The students are going to have it their way, and rightly so.

This. I know there are a lot of fans who will be at the game and aren't on Cyclone Fanatic, but for those of you on here who plan on going, please remember that we are 6 point favorites. This will not be an upset.

The jock jams sound track in hilton is old and outdated enough, thank you very much. Tom Sawyer can stay in your 8 track.

If Tom Sawyer can be used to unlock missile codes, surely it can accomplish anything

#3, #5, and #6 are the only valid 'rules' there.

Well, then the students broke rule #6 against Iowa. As the students in the front didn't want to rush, but those behind them did.

And that picture is from the Michigan game. So, none of the rules were broken.

a) No one is threatening to rush the court every time. Most of these posts are in response to posts like yours, where people are "too cool" to rush the court. Like I said, I get why it happens, but now that it has happened a few times it'd be great to show some restraint and save it... Rushing the court after a win in which you're favored = weak sauce.
b) LE may have had off-court issues but his teams won games (well, most of the...except that team which shall not be named). The losses began to mount under Morgan & McD. You assumed LE. I was specifically talking about Natty Light. I'm blaming the beer! (No beer/(or rather alcoholism for LE) and we might have avoided the dark decade of nothingness. I friggin loved Larry... One of my classmates (BB walk-on/benchwarmer) got the email from the Mizzou student who took the photo well before the Register got it. (We were in Rome for the semester, and nothing hit the fan until I got back to the US at the end of the semester).
c) 33 is not as wise and mature as you may think. You're the same age as my youngest kid. Get back to me when you have a couple of decades of watching your own kids get excited about things. You'll understand a little better by then. I'll get back to you in 2031... (At which point my kids will be 20 and hopefully in college... And not rushing the court...)
d) Remove the stick that extends from your nethers, relax, and enjoy life a little more. And let the students do the same. You had your turn. It's theirs now. If they want to rush, let 'em. You're not going to stop them anyway, so you (and the rest of the grouches, old & young) might as well quit griping at them or about them.
Like I said, I get it. I understand. The students are excited after a very, very, very long dry spell and after a miserable football season. But it's time to stop being surprised by our success in BB. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. At the risk of waking my very tired two-year-olds I ran around in my underwear "silently" cheering in my hotel room during & after the Iowa game (it's not weird if it works).

This chart is missing a really important condition...

#6 WHENEVER THE **** YOU FEEL LIKE IT BECAUSE THIS IS HAPPY FUNTIMES SPORTS GAMES AND FEELING GOOD ABOUT HAPPY FUNTIMES SPORTS GAMES ISN'T ABOUT YOUR RULES, MAN, IT'S ABOUT HAVING FUN AND BEING SPONTANEOUS!

seriously, no fan should need one of those QB arm bands on to determine if they're allowed to celebrate a win a certain way. Give it the frak up.

this post made me so mad I stormed the court.

Who says you have to be "surprised" to rush the court? It would seem to me that you only have to be excited.

I rush the court for a whole gamut of emotions. Surprised, excited, relieved, angry, horny, hungry, bored, tuesday, heteronormitivity, and tree.
