We have a small fan base that can hardly keep up financially with the big boys as it is. The last thing we need to do is run off bandwagon fans.

We need hard core fans, we need bandwagon fans, we need moderate fans and we need occasional fans, if we want to keep up with the Jones' of college sports.

All programs have bandwagon fans, until you become such a powerhouse that ALL of your fans expect to win ALL the time and are invested as such.

We can afford to run off some the D bags though.

What are you talking about?

I said nobody is giving up on this team just because some of us are questioning what's been going on in the last 3 games. I was addressing the OP, not you. Are you drunk? I sure hope so.

He fell off the wagon, as directed by the OP.

Oh **** u to the guy who started this thread. We have some issues to address big deal we will and get better. I am sure the team is not satisfied with their play and that's why we have practice. I am behind this team, but every team has issues.

Most of us are not throwing in the towel.

This thread was meant for the "fans" that have been panicking and "fixing" the team after every game. Its for the casual fan that stumbled upon CF and starts every thread with a dis followed by a question mark ESPN style. If you are not one of those fans, then this is not for you. If you are that type of fan, this was a simple invitation to leave the band wagon, with no judgement. I respect every viewpoint, and everyone has the right to post what they wish on the toilet stall that is the interweb.... I just don't appreciate those people going around posing as fans... making tickets more expensive and taking all the good parking spots at Hilton.

Read the original post before you comment. It was posted in support. Thanks for the F**K You by the way. Stay Classy

The thing people didn't want to admit is that we didn't actually look good in any of our "good" wins, except for against Baylor.

With the amount of slow starts and lucky finishes we had, there was no way to really tell how we'd handle conference season.

But based on the first five games, we are no longer competing for the conference championship, and we don't look like we're competing for 2 or 3. I will feel lucky and grateful if we land #4.

I'm getting off the wagon in that sense that I won't mind missing games from now on. I made it a priority before (skip other plans, put it on the office when I'm working late) and didn't miss one, but now I'll just watch if there's nothing else going on.

The grass is green, but the grass is blue.

Heresathing....to me...threads calling out 'real fans' and 'not real fans' are just as dooshy and lame and pointless and pathetic as the freakout threads.

Dooshy
(noun): a person who is in a Dooshy Crew or is similar in traits, typically a suffix following their first name;

(adjective): someone who isn't quite an *******, but not kind either, who is also slightly hick, enjoys chewing tobacco, wreaks havoc, steals things once in a great while, and has a great pride in their circle of friends, or "crew."

(noun):"Name" Dooshy, i.e. if John Doe was a Dooshy, he would be called John Dooshy.

I think you meant Douchey

I enjoy the fact that a thread started with the intent of bringing positive things to light and attempting to minimize all the ******** and complaining, has turned into a hate session for the person that started the thread. Lets all take shots at someone who doesn't start a dumpster fire after 3 losses to quality opponents. Lets all get offended for no reason at all!! Lets drop F bombs and take personal shots!!! Congrats, you have won the internet.

My third grade team is undefeated.

team looked pretty bad, if you don't like peoples frustrated comments after bad losses then stay offline and keep your rainbows and butterflies to yourself when we lose.

I predicted an 8th place conference finish for this team before the season started. I was wavering after the BU game and thought we could finish maybe as high as 3rd in conference, but I think 6th place and a 10 seed in the tourney is about right for this team at this point. No reason to panic or quit on the team. The highs are usually not as high as they seem and the lows are usually not as low. We are a top 40 team, but not a top 20 team and it showed today on the road against a good team that's playing it's best basketball so far this year.
6th in the Big 12? Think you're a little low there man.

I have no problem admitting that when it comes to basketball, I am definitely a bandwagon fan. I don't really care for basketball in general and only watch when the team is doing well.

Great post, thanks for sharing. Wil sleep better knowing this.

Not taking a shot at you but apparently you missed the Meltdown thread that I started a last week after we lost at OK. It was started because I anticipated people freaking out over the loss and as a place that if people wanted to vent... do it there so the entire basketball forum doesn't get flooded with negativity like it usually does. The only thing that happened was everyone telling me how dumb I was for starting such a stupid thread and how nobody was melting down. Meh,it happens. The thing I didn't take into consideration is some people only post what they think people want to hear so they get more "likes" on their posts. Don't sweat it. In the end.. this team will be ok. While I have not been completely thrilled in some of the sloppiness in a couple of the losses, I'd rather them get learn now and work out the kinks for the rest of the season and the tourney. In Fred we trust.

Anybody who didn't think we were highly overrated is an idiot. This is a very poor outside shooting team. Ironic since Hoiberg is our HC. Pretty sad when our designated center (Niang) is our best chance at making a 3pointer. You can laugh at me now but it's not going to be easy for these guys to make the tourney. K-St just might kick our *** at Hilton. They are well coached and are playing great.

They are one week removed from getting embarassed by 26 yet again in Lawrence. Playing great...

McDormat took the best years of my life. Even this is awesome in comparison.

The ship will right. I trust Fred. Some of those close wins from earlier in the season are now close losses.

We're still a good squad.

This team needs to reel off 3 wins now to make up for the 3 losses to get back on track.
