Even before the win against KSU, Lunardi had ISU as the 2nd 3 seed, ahead of Okie St. and Wisconsin. I have a lot more respect for what he produces than the polls.
Unlike a lot of the posters on this site, Lunardi knows we lost to 2 good teams on the road and a great team at home. There is a reason he is keeping us so high in the bracket despite losing 3 in a row. We still have a stretch where we have a great chance of winning 7 of 9 games which would put us at 22 wins alone right there and we would still have 3 games left.

CBB rankings are all about what have you done in the last 2-3 weeks.

Im just still thrilled that we have been ranked a majority of a season. This has happened very few times in my 30 years!

Look at where they have played their toughest games so far (all on the road) compared to where our toughest games have been so far (all at home). They have a chance to live up to their ranking the next few games with a bunch of ranked teams coming to IC, while it's time for us to actually prove something on the road.

Plus, it hurts to say but most experts give Iowa a pass for the ISU game as they seem to all agree that Iowa blew it completely in the end.

Decades of experience in blowing completely.

Just shows how important tough road wins are.

True. But although I'm not much for anti-ISU conspiracy theories, and think ISU's ranking is pretty fair ATM, schools that are supposed to be ranked do get the benefit of the doubt as well.

Neither Kentucky or Louisville have particularly impressive resumes. Kentucky has lost to 3 of 4 ranked teams they've played, beating only Louisville at home. Louisville has lost to all 3 ranked teams they've played, with their most impressive win @UConn.

Schools with a longer track record (over the years) always have an advantage in the polls. Iowa should be ranked ahead of both of them.

I agree that Louisville and Kentucky are both overranked. I think many voters are holding them up there because they believe that they will be better down the line. It's a stupid reason, I agree. Neither deserves to be ranked over Iowa or Iowa State and Iowa should be below Iowa State as well.
