Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

Did you forget the jimlad? I think he should choose us as much as the next guy, but UNLV did produce the #1 overall draft pick last year....so that might be one reason.

You do realize NBA teams are noticing that UNLV's #1 pick is producing 3 points/game, and not even playing 12 minutes a game, right?

Someone on staff

So we are supposed to believe a staff member is leaking information regarding Vaughn? I am not sure what your relationship to the team is, but I would be ticked off if I was Hoiberg and someone on my staff is leaking information regarding my biggest recruit.

So? Fizer was Top 10 and RW was top 15. What's your point? Did you think that Jimlad maybe got some very nice extras...wink wink... to go there. Don't for a second think that UNLV is squeaky clean cause they aint. Eyebrows should raise when elite players(they already have two committed thus far) start going to a program that has been awful for over a decade and is in a conf that is not respected and they get no TV coverage.

Why would you go there if you are an elite? I'll stop there.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

Whoever is reading Bossis article and thinking it's UNLV because of it is nuts. It says absolutely nothing about him going to UNLV. It just says it's likely down to us and UNLV.

He's also said that RV likes UNLV because of the number of pro players that train in the off season there. This was stated, but not in a article. I think that's all I can say without getting this post banned or deleted.

I was just responding to the dude that said he couldn't understand why anyone would ever go to UNLV. I thought that was a pretty ridiculous statement, and pointed out that Bennett got a little bit of exposure out in Vegas. Again, I agree with everyone here that he SHOULD come to ISU, as I think a really top talent could be unbelievably good in Fred's NBA-like system. But this blind criticism of our competition just makes our fans look silly. Case in point - you do realize how our last NBA draft pick is doing, right?

Let me rephrase my original post because it was really poorly worded and this is obviously getting people wound up...

Eric Bossi would predict UNLV if he had to chose

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

I think it would be a bad decision on his part to pick UNLV over us but I just can't shake this bad feeling that he will.
You all know the feeling where you're confident and excited yet still feel the early stages of nut gut creeping in. That feeling just comes natural for Cyclone fans but ya never get used to it. Rashad can make up for a lot of pain over the years come Saturday. Like others have said we will be fine without him but just imagine the possibilities with him in the mix next year. Do the right thing RV!!!!!

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

If this were a reading course, you've done very badly.
It wasn't posted in that article but it doesn't mean he didn't say it somewhere else. The relationships that RV has developed with their recruits has been underestimated on this board for a long time now. I still think we are sitting in a very good position but nothing will surprise me this weekend (either ISU or UNLV).

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

Ill say this until I'm blue in the face, the kid is dumb if he goes to UNLV. Out all the possible locations he could end up, that's truly one of the worst. Zero exposure (tv wise), a less-than-stellar coach, not a very good fan base, poor competition, etc.
