He likes UNLV because NBA players workout there in the offseason?

So many flaws.

1. If he wants to be a one and done, there will be no NBA offseason while he is a college student.

2. If he stays here for more than one year, he isn't forced to stay in Ames during our offseason/summer time.

This idea that UNLV is a favorite because they had (1) lottery pick in a decade is ludicrous. McDermott might be a lottery pick, McDermott folks, and he's at Creighton.

RV picks UNLV for things we can't or aren't willing to offer. It's not fans being ignorant, UNLV is a trash program and everyone who follows college knows this. Fans on here aren't saying this about UNC, KU or UK are they?

On a side note, if he wants to train with NBA players over the summer then he can drive 3 hours north to Minneapolis...which is oh..his home town.

If the coaches were surprised about his decision this Saturday, then wtf (if that's fact). Is RV going to surprise Freddy by announcing without a heads up? Or is he going with the dirty ****-holes, UNLV?

You all know the feeling where you're confident and excited yet still feel the early stages of nut gut creeping in. That feeling just comes natural for Cyclone fans but ya never get used to it. Rashad can make up for a lot of pain over the years come Saturday. Like others have said we will be fine without him but just imagine the possibilities with him in the mix next year. Not a lottery pick. The #1 overall pick. And he sucks. But somehow, UNLV got him there.

Nobody is saying UNLV is KU, UK, or UNC. We're just saying it's not as though he is committing to NIACC.

What is so hard to understand about this? I am flabbergasted by the blinders some people around here are wearing....

I'm pretty sure Fred knows(good or bad). On the court show tonight, when a caller mentioned that there might be a good announcement this weekend, Fred quickly said thanks for he call(maybe trying not to smirk).

You don't honestly think he would put his source do you?

I get get what you are saying, did he here it from a staff member, someone close to the program, or just someone who thinks the staff was caught off guard. But, no matter what it was he isn't going to say coach x said this.

Denny from Clear Lake mentioned that the decision was going to be made this weekend to Fred on the call in show and Fred was stone faced. Of course Fred is pretty much often stone faced.

Because UNLV has bee irrelevant in basketball for 20 years. Northern Iowa has had a better program. That's why. No it isn't NIACC but we aren't talking about a 2 star recruit either. It's like Scott Drew at Baylor but 10x worse. Drew gets top talent and ruins them. Obviously RV likes Vegas or he wouldn't have gone to Findlay but I have to think that going to UNLV, if he does, has more to do with things we cannot offer. Sorry but you won't convince me of anything else. Let's be clear..the NBA doesn't draft based on where you went to college. two lottery picks from last year played at Weber State and Univ of Washington. UNLV isn't some Lottery mecca.
