Kind of wish he would have just made the decision on Saturday, instead of announcing that he was going to make the decision on Saturday. Vaughn definitely knows his PR.

Looks like UNLV fans main reason for Vaughn not to come here is because nothing happens in Iowa. That sounds like another fan base that didn't even make it to the top 5.

This is just his way to stick it to all the coaches and writers calling him every day for updates. Making everyone sweat a bit. Personally, I love it. He only gets to do this once, he deserves to make waves when he does announce.

VERY GOOD POINT. IF it is true our coaches do not know, that is concerning. One would think the coaches would know before the actual announcement as the annoucement could be just for the media and fans.

Oh come on. Every recruit does it differently: sometimes the coaches know ahead of time and sometimes they don't. I think it's funny that even with as little information that is out there people will still find something to be pessimistic about.

Or not. It's just as conceivable to think that Vaughn is keeping it under his hat and that nobody knows for sure. We simply don't have enough information to make an accurate guess at what Vaughn is doing.

I can assure you many here have accurately guessed. Not having enough information is what why it would be an accurate guess.


In regards to the surprise theory, if done with even a little consideration for those that have spent years getting to know you, the one coach that may not know before hand (other than needed logistics), would be the "winning" coach. I do not see him doing a Barnes low-class move. If Vaughn respects Hoiberg as much as it has been claimed, I hope Hoiberg already knows if he is not going to pick ISU on Saturday. Maybe he does.

That's only if he is planning something like Barnes did. If he's just doing something simple like picking up a hat then we wouldn't have to know. If he is doing something involving a coach like Barnes did then yeah, we probably wont get him if we don't know, but how do we know he didn't call Roy like 20 mins earlier and tell him to open up Skype or something?

Regarding the surprise aspect, wouldn't it be possible for him to call the coaches right before tweeting it on Saturday? That wouldn't surprise me. Possible some sort of hat thing at Findlay. Either way he could still inform the coaches the night before or even minutes before he announces.

Or its just as conceivable that Fred does know, but in typical cool Hoiberg fashion he is not telling a soul. Lets be real here, the best way for information not to get out is to not tell anyone what you know, even your closest friends.

Personally I don't think anyone knows. Still holding out hope the timing of his twitter message with regards to his announcement, bodes well for us.
