Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

VERY GOOD POINT. IF it is true our coaches do not know, that is concerning. One would think the coaches would know before the actual announcement as the annoucement could be just for the media and fans.

Fred may not know today, but that doesn't mean he might not know before the announcement on Saturday.

Lol. Like Fred would give ANY indication of what Vaughn has told him...whether it be yes or no.

Very good point. It seems like Vaughn himself may not have completely decided yet.

I've never heard of a player informing the coach 3-4 days before their announcement. And would be a huge **** move by the coaching staff to let it leak if they did know about his decision already.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

Ugh, semantics...his point still stands. Nobody here knows **** and until Saturday any prediction anyone makes is a guess without much support.
Disagree, we know for sure it is down to five, and with high probability it is down to two. To complain about not knowing for certain or dismissing things as nothing more than "accurate guess" is weak all the way around. Are you going to bring up in every lineup thread we do not know for certain who will be back next year? We know to a high degree the factors involved in Vaughn's recruitment.

Is Fred able to talk about who verbally commits? Or does he have to remain quiet until signing day due to NCAA rules?

I would put more stock in what Morgan said than the trainer. Reading from that it seems clear to me that Morgan is saying he's trying to sell RV on playing together and that he's certainly not indicated he is following. That's how I see it.

45.452%- ISU
27.272%- UNLV
9.092%- KU
9.092%- UK
9.092%- UNC

Yup, that doesn't add up to 100% but what can you do?

You're welcome

I don't do decimal points. It's integers or bust.

My main point was 50% of ISU, 50% everyone else with UNLV leading that group.

If I'm a betting man I say he's been strongly leaning ISU, but not decided, for a long time. And that he mostly added UNLV cause he went to Findlay, and kept blue bloods in it cause it's smart to, for fun, and for exposure.

He also said RV will be all good and have a great career wherever he goes. Seems like D Morgan hasn't convinced RV to follow him.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

How do the last two quotes from Morgan's trainer make any sense? If he's a betting man he's taking UNLV, but his educated guess is ISU? He must be a terrible gambler.

Well he thinks he is going to ISU, but there's a chance he may go to UNLV. The odds or payoff in a bet will be maybe 5 to 1 versus 2 to 1 for ISU............if he's betting, put the money on UNLV, because the payoff will be a lot higher.

What a horrible choice of words for him.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

For what it's worth 247 has:

ISU Warmer
UNLV Warm

UNLV also picked up two crystal ball predictions today.

And ironically the two that picked UNLV, switched from their ISU pick that was made in September and December of 2013.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

Can somebody explain to me the difference between an educated guess and a betting man?

The probability Vaughn goes to UNLV is 40% and for ISU it is 60%. If you bet on UNLV you get 25 dollars If you pick ISU you get 16 dollars.

Your expected gain if you pick UNLV = (0.6 * 0) + (0.4 * 25) = 10 dollars

your expected gain if you pick ISU = (0.6 * 15) + (0.4 * 0) = 9 dollars

so an educated guess says you pick ISU, but if you are a betting man, you might pick UNLV
