Go to UNLV and put up 30 a night against inferior competition and play along side your close friends. Or, go to ISU play in the big 12 and struggle. If you want to be 1 and done, take the path of least resistance. Get through the season averaging 30 ppg or so and impress scouts a all year round play Utah State.

As much as I hate it, that's the appeal and pitch. Come here and do your thing to score points, win or lose, and nba scouts can't really tell how good you are because you dominated prep school and dominate the MWC and when you are a top prep and nothing changes perception wise about your game you get drafted...and then bust.

i wanted RV he just seems like a great kid and would be a star in Ames and possibly bring us over the top to being a legit final four team.

Exactly. KU, UK & UNC could all argue why would Vaughn go to ISU when he could go to a program that has multiple championship banners. RV is going to do what he believes is best for he and his family. While I personally think UNLV is not the best option for him professionally, what do I know? Two very important factors UNLV has going for it are the proximity of his trusted adviser, Pete Kaffey, and the familiarity of a city in which he has lived. The relationship he has probably been able to build with the UNLV staff being local and being able to maintain a relationship with the Findlay Prep staff can't hurt either. Maybe the weather/big city is important to him as well. I think ISU offers a better coach, a better offense, a better chance to win big, a bigger spot light and close proximity to his parents, but maybe the former is more important to him. It is RV's talent and his choice. While I hope his choice is here, I am supremely confident that Fred and ISU are on the upward trajectory with or without him. He could just help speed the acceleration of that trajectory is all.

So if Vaughn does chose UNLV is it safe to say he is a liar? Since the start of his recruitment he has been saying that the two biggest factors in his decision are style of play and relationship with the coach. Well we have an NBA style of play, which should appeal to him, and Fred has been recruiting him for four years so he most likely has the best relationship with Fred. In these two categories ISU >>> UNLV. Maybe these two factors aren't important to him after all

No, it means that if he chooses some place other than ISU, you thank him for considering us, wish him well, and then move on to finding the next recruit to fit into the program. You know, basically act like an adult.
