Some of you guys are petulant little *******. It's embarrassing. UNLV has been to the tourney 6 of the last 7 years. They have been 5 and 6 seeds the last two years and whipped us straight up last year. ISU is not a significantly better program. Hopefully it will be in the near future.

I will admit their program has been better over the past few years. Keep in mind though, Krueger left a hell of a foundation. He had good players and is one of the best coaches out there. As to last year, it was early, our team was trying to put a bunch of new guys together and hadn't even begun to gel yet. By mid Fed. last year ISU would have wiped the floor with UNLV. No way UNLV could have beat us later in the year. This year the Mountain West has two good teams, maybe we can stretch and say 3. There is just simply no comparison to the grind in the Big 12.

I beg to differ. We are the better program and the better team IMO. UNLV is NEVER on national TV. We are all the time. Their conference, and the their schedule, stinks compared to ours. ISU would have been in the tourney 10 years in a row with their schedule IMO.

Here are just a few of the schools that UNLV has lost to this year already.....

Dixie State (exhibition)
UC Santa Barbara
Illinois
Arizona State
Air Force
Nevada Reno

I mean c'mon. They will probably go on to make the tourney again this year because they are 15-8, but you'd have to be really bad to not be 15-8 with their schedule.

If Vaughn wants national exposure, it's not even a question which school would give that to him.... Iowa State. UNLV is NEVER on TV. They never play any big games, except against Arizona, but nobody even cares when they play them either.

Gotta love that! He's right too. Not many better places to play in the country right now than for Fred Hoiberg in Hilton Coliseum. UNLV doesn't even come close.

Not sure why people think Jerry has this locked down simply because he had an idea that the announcement might be delayed.

Delayed announcement= something RV will need to let people know

Actual selection= something RV doesn't want to let people know

Either way, he might be right, but I really don't believe that he knows anything for sure.

I think he will choose Iowa State.

He did reveal, however, that out of every school that is actively recruiting him, he probably has had the best relationships with the coaches at Iowa State, where coach Fred Hoiberg and assistant coach Matt Abdelmassih have been actively pursuing him since early high school.
“Probably here, because they’ve been recruiting me since ninth grade,” Vaughn said about where he has the best athletic connections. “I’ve got a good relationship with them.”
So what is the biggest factor in Vaughn’s recruitment? What is the most important thing to him?
“Really, relationships and where I fit most,” Vaughn said. “Where I come in and fit in, that’s what it’s really going to come down to.”

“Man, it’s going to be crazy. They lined up outside out there last night so it should be a crazy atmosphere,” Vaughn said. “This is one of the best places to play. The fans, the fans are amazing so you can see that.

Maybe I haven't seen enough of UNLV play..well I haven't because they are never on TV..but correct me if I'm wrong isn't UNLV's best player Bryce Dejean-jones? who is leading them in scoring and is a true #2 SG? He's certainly not playing the point. Is RV playing the point next year for UNLV? if he plays the 3 he will be out of position the whole year. One thing that is for sure is that if he comes to ISU he starts at the 2 day one. Although in CFH system it really doesn't matter you can play the 1-4 and put up 20 shots a game easily.

Just found it interesting that UNLV's best player and best returning player plays the same spot as RV.
