I don't know who his sources are but I've heard from within that if Vaughn announced today he would be committing to UNLV. Unless Hoiberg can change his mind he's going to UNLV.

TBH if I saw a 10k post thread with 1 million views and avatars of my face everywhere I wouldn't be like "oh cool these guys really want me to come to their school.

I'd be like "what the FUK is wrong with these people" and be creeped the hell out.

That's been my opinion of the avatars since they started. The thread is fine; it just shows interest and excitement for the program. The occasional, comical avatar/gif is one thing (ie rv/hoiberg carlton dancing) but 200 strangers posting with the same 18 kid as their picture has always seemed weird to me.

I don't know why people would meltdown if he doesn't come here. Would I think he'd be stupid to choose UNLV over ISU? Yes, but I wouldn't freak out. This is nothing like Barnes where he's home grown or something. Also, unlike Barnes, he won't make or break this team. He'd be a phenomenal talent to have on the team, but it's not like we'll suddenly only win 15 games without him.

That's how I would be too, but I wouldn't like all the attention period. It would creep me out if someone took the time to photo shop my face into a zombie and sent it to me like one of the postere here did. He made it his twitter profile picture.

Either way, regardless of the glory/horror of the mega-thread, there is no chance it factored at all into his decision.

If I was a recruit and I saw a thread as sorry as this one, I don't know if it would affect my decision, but it most certainly wouldn't help. Not in the least. Especially with what we've seen since Tuesday. This thread is worse than the worst I could ever imagine coming from a hawkeye fan.
