Shocker
A KU fan comparing bS crunch time calls to random first half calls. Yeah, that's comparable....

I thought you said that KU ALWAYS gets the calls? Was the call that allowed their best player to stay on the floor for more than 6 minutes when he should have been on the bench not an important call? Did KU get that call? Then quit being a bunch of ridiculous tin foil hat fans.

And I am too lazy to scroll back to read all the whining; what exactly is the BS crunch time call that has everyone's panties in a wad?

Didn't realize we could get so butt hurt about another team losing. Oddly enough there also seems to be a close correlation with winning close games and number of McDonald's All Americans on the roster.

But if those Big 12 refs (who aren't employed by the conference in basketball and are just NCAA refs) would just stop giving away these games to Kansas it would all be better.

Get back to us when KU loses a game on a 3 pointer during a dead ball. Also you don't notice the same officials tend to do Big 12 games often over the years? These "there are no Big 12 refs" posters need to stfu, you look like idiots pretending to be smart. We all know how refs are hired and that they can do games for other conferences, you're the one who looks like a dumb@$$ pretending the same officials don't typically do plenty of Big 12 games.

Texas Tech played well and did a great job of slowing the game down to a boring crawl. I don't think there was a single point scored in transition all night by either team. KU dared Tech to hit threes and they went 6-12, WAY better than their average.

Someone needs to check Tharpe's bank account to see if he is point shaving or trying to throw a game. He literally handed the ball to the other team twice in a row in the 2nd half. Ridiculous. He is going to be the death of me (and this team).

Ah, well. Glad that's over. Thank you to Iowa State for dispatching Texas. KU will need to play MUCH better than what they just put out there to even have a shot at beating Texas on Saturday. At least they will get to get up and down the floor a bit more.
So now you are trying to play nice guy and compliment us? Maybe if you had actually knowledge for the game of basketball you'd realize that KU always gets the benefit down the stretch.

Twocoach sounds like the normal ignorant KU basketball fan. One call goes against KU for every three or four that is a blatant screw job to the opposition and he feels things are even.

So they don't ALL go against us? But wait, you said... Good grief, people. Go back and read your nonsense. It's embarassing. I wonder if the level headed, mature ISU fans cringe when they see their own fan base acting like this...

This will continue until there is enough traction from the entire fanbase of the Big 12 to end it. I mean, it will take mass firings or some kind of National call-out from Dan Patrick or Robin Roberts to get this corrected. It is not the total fouls, it is not the 1st half fouls.......it is the absolute deference, bias, whatever you want to call it, at crunch time when the game is on the line in the last 4 minutes of a game when referees go into Jayhawk mode. It will never change though.......conference re-alignment might do it. If Texas gets real good in the next two years and gets a screw job with a non-block call on national television...that might do it too. Otherwise....too many Cyclone fans and others who just say "Aw shucks, look at the total fouls. I am superior and I know the referees aren't deciding these games......if we would have made those 9 three pointers, we could have won." Just think of the Jayhawk influencers in the media, in the refereeing profession, in the hall of power of the NCAA. KU basketball is the most shameful competitive illusion in college sports.

You make a good point. It's the timing of these calls. They will come early to get KU the lead, then they will call some garbage late when the game is out of reach to even things out. If that doesn't work the refs will take care of it the last few minutes. You can't win, unless you are KU.

i would love to see a stat of foul discrepancy the last few minutes of close games. Although tonight they did it with jump balls, not fouls.

Agreed. Some of us have a KU complex, for some reason.

With all due respect, it is people with your attitude that enable what is going on with KU and the unorganized but very real subliminal bias that referees show KU. Are you buying the KU troll anecdotes of first half fouls making things equal? Is this all a myth? Does KU NOT get the crunch time benefit of the doubt game in and game out? Do you believe that Bill Self getting a technical in the first half makes everything copacetic for a make up call later in the game for him? Hell, if I was living in your world I wouldn't make to Hilton for anything.....why care? Peace.

Refs are hired by signing up for games around where they live. They put together their schedules so they can get as many games in in a week and end up back near their homes. Most have regular jobs so they need to minimize their travel schedules. It's really not that hard to understand. If you took that spaghetti strainer off your head you would realize there is no great conspiracy.

Weird. I remember a Big Monday game last year where Withey should have gotten his 5th foul yet the ref flagged it on a guy 5 feet from the ball except for this time it was in the 2nd half during a critical part of the game. Keep digging yourself in a hole. It is rather entertaining!

So why didn't Kansas win the game at Kansas State? I thought they get all the calls? There were ample opportunities for the refs to give KU that game, but they didn't. Why not?

So you missed the call in the first half where the ref called the foul on the WRONG Texas Tech player, right? #30 (their best player) committed a foul but the ref put up #20 on his fingers (a guy on the other side of the court). He clearly meant it for #30 since the player shot free throws, but #30 didn't get stuck with a foul. He got his first (really his 2nd) a few minutes later and didn't have to come out, going on to score 6 in the first half after the foul. Yeah, the refs must be trying to get KU a win...

Maybe the refs just SUCK and it only makes you mad when it benefits one of the two teams?!?

And for the 10,000th time, there are no such things as Big 12 refs. Act like you have a clue about the sport.

KU fan complaining about that.... LOLOLOLOLOLOL Jeff Withey thinks you're an idiot.

Yes but the conference still has to authority to assign the official to the game or not. It's not like I can go to Hilton and ask Jamie Pollard if I can ref the next ISU game. Get your **** together man! You just keep giving us firepower!

You are not only ignorant, but stupid. Do you not know what hyperbole is?
You must know how figures of speech are used on message boards, given I said no such thing, yet here you are, posting "you said" and "your".

Your insecurity on the issues says it all.
