JB is so annoying. Can he just answer the question and move on? He turns every answer into a 5 min interview. Nobody gives a **** what you have to say, let alone a whole story to go along with every answer.

He's a comedian. It's not in his nature to just give a short answer.

For all the people who are bringing up the age difference between Beth and Darly haven't read the comic. In the comic Andrea is about Beth's age and is in a relationship with Dale... Yes old balls Dale that was ripped open... Maybe they are trying to make the Daryl/Beth situation similar to that one?

A lot of you can get away with in comic books wont fly on TV though.

People would get ticked if late 30s Daryl ended up with 18 year old Beth. I think the most that might happen is that Beth has a crush on Daryl. I just don't see anything more.

Having Carol back sets up a reunion between her and Daryl that a lot of people want.

Only problem is I'm not sure Daryl makes it out of the season alive. Beth's line about him being the last one standing was a death sentence in my opinion.

I thought the whole episode last night was pretty lazy. Probably my least favorite so far.

Killing off Daryl would be pretty close to a deal breaker for me. And considering his popularity with the fans (especially when compared with the "leads")...it would likely be a death sentence for the show.

Death sentence for the most popular show on TV? Nah.

Meh...
I may be over-estimating the impact...but you might also be under-estimating it.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. There's no denying that he is one of the most popular characters in the cast...certainly more so than Rick, or Carl, or Glenn...

He is definitely a popular character and one of my favorites. But the creators have said the only safe characters are Rick and Carl. Plus, from a story telling perspective, statements like Beth's are usually some kind of fore shadowing. To be honest I didn't think Daryl was gonna make it out of the episode when she said that. Especially knowing Norman was on talking dead lol.

He is quite popular but is a fun side character on the whole. I have never seen people bail on a show for killing off a popular character. Case in point, Game of Thrones... lots of book fans were so worried when certain characters died it would turn off fans. Then when it happens you have a few fans swearing off the show... but it just keeps getting more and more popular after each of these happened. Truth is, fans want great TV, they want a show that will surprise them and isn't scared to kill of a main character, as that ratchets up the tension and truly shows nobody is safe. The show wouldn't be nearly as exciting if we know that characters like Daryl or Glenn or Maggie are safe.

I do think Daryl is one of the safest characters though. He isn't in the comics so they don't need to kill him off for the sake of the plot, and he is popular, so they will likely want to keep him around... this is assuming other main characters continue to die (I haven't read the comics, just assume this based off of what we have seen so far).

I agree with Rasta-monkey on this one.

He's not in the comics, so they're not tied to having to kill him off. While I think eventually it will happen, I don't think it will until much further along in the series. He's very quickly become the face of the show, probably more so than even Rick.

The comic book doesn't really tie the show runners to anything at this point. TV Andrea is dead, but her character in the comic is still going strong. Thankfully comic Andrea kicks *** unlike the horrible character they created for TV.

One of my problems with the show now, honestly. It has begun to feel like all the major characters are safe, the only ones killed are total redshirts (woodbury citizens for example) or slightly developed characters, axed immediately after becoming interesting, in an obvious ploy to make us care more about them dying than your average redshirt (axel).

The bigger problem is the show has failed until recently at developing characters for the long run as opposed to just developing them enough to make them kill-targets. You have to have those types of characters ready to fill the roles of far as 'characters we care about' if you're going to kill off other major characters, or else people will check out of the series. This is where the development of characters like Beth comes in.

As far as Daryl goes, that line about him being the last one standing also stood out for me. Ive got good odds that Daryl is going to go out saving Beth now.... this would also offer opportunities to take Beth even farther.
