So anyone else ready to start pointing fingers at coaches for the attrition on the defensive line?

Did anyone honestly think our defense was going to be good / average next year?
Defensive line had the potential at one time and then you have the guys quitting with eligibility left and now this.

He's been attending spring practices though, so unless he was just dismissed today he is still working with the team.

Just holding out hope that this is one of those situations in which they give him the boot in the Spring, make their point and reinstate him in June once he's "learned his lesson".

Nothing to add besides saying that Rodney Coe is apparently not a very smart person.

I was hoping this might be the case, but the language would be more like 'suspended' rather than "dismissed" I would think. It doesn't sound good.

It sounds like he missed meetings and was late. Not sure who I am angrier at. Him for being so absolutely careless or the coaches for letting it happen and then kicking him off the team.

Our defense is going to be absolutely terrible unless multiple players come out of nowhere.

How do coaches let it happen? They obviously gave him ample warnings and laid out expectations for him. He apparently continued to not meet expectations and was let go. That's how the world works. Not sure how the coaches can be blamed for a guy being stupid and lazy.

Coe said he's going to play somewhere else.

The coaches need to not let it get that far. Get him motivated and get him thinking the things he missed were important enough. If you can't do that, don't recruit a guy like that.

It's obviously almost all on Coe, but how can you let that happen all around? And you let Irving stay after his whole thing? Questionable.

^ this. Guy obviously didn't care about the program enough to stay in line. No one wants a player like that on the team. Bye bye

Which everyone already knew. Except CPR, apparently. This guy was bad news from the start.

Coe only looked good due to "tallest midget syndrome." He was not a good player. Addition by subtraction.

No it's not. Maybe something is going on with the defensive coaching staff? who knows really? I realize Coe had lazy issues prior to coming to ISU and it's hard to put stuff on the coaches but we've lost a tremendous amount of Dline players in 12 months. Unheard of really. Something is going on. What have we lost? 5 d line players? something is going on.
