I am glad Tolbert and Harris are transferring as they will be targets for other big programs that may target guys we want.
I really hope mason transfers and we get him.

One of the recruiting "experts" (Borzello I think) said if Mason stays in college he will likely stay on the east coast. That's just his guess though.

Early entry players have until April 27th to DECLARE for the draft and until June 16th to withdraw from the draft.

However, the NCAA date to withdraw from the draft is April 15th. So if you declare for the draft after April 15th, your eligibility is gone. Which is why any player who is thinking about declaring for the draft but isn't sure what to do should keep their mouth shut until April 27th. It at least gives them another 12 days to get a NBA evaluation done.

Austin has to declare soon right? He often looks lousy against us, but he was starting to play really well in some games the second half of the year.

I've heard he's not expected to go.

Man, surprised by this. Maybe he really does just love being at a Christian school.

His draft stock was all over the place this season and ended at a high point, at one point it looked like he'd lost more money than Smart by staying.

Based on what's being returned/lost/added SO FAR:

1.) Kansas
2.) Iowa State
3.) Baylor
4.) Texas
5.) Oklahoma
6.) Kansas State
7.) Oklahoma State
8.) West Virginia
9.) Texas Christian
10.) Texas Tech

probably 5-6 bids, could be another 7. Obviously we still have to see if Staten leaves, who ISU adds, and other players that might transfer out/in for the other schools.

If Austin continues to stay and play at this level does he lose out on the "potential" hype?

He was slipping as far as late 2nd round mid season when he was putting up 8th man off the bench caliber numbers. He's been rolling lately and I think some team uses a first round pick on him. Even without considering injuries it seems a huge gamble for him to stay imho.

At the end of the day he's 7'1" and can tie his shoes. He'll stay on a bench in the league for a while a la Hasheem Thabeet.

I just don't think it's fair that a guy like Marcus Smart has more pro looks because he is 20 than Deandre Kane because he's 25.

You're right in that Austin's play getting older have turned him from top 10 potential draft position to top 40, especially if he stays another year. But he'll probably get drafted when he leaves Baylor because of his size even if he's 22.

He's the kind of player that could have burned an NBA gm before the one and done rule. Might have been good some day but not ready to play his entire rookie contract. The rule is clearly protecting GM's pocket books in this case.

Just curious, why do you have Baylor above Texas here? I didn't think Texas lost anybody and Baylor is losing Heslip and Jefferson. Unless they have some studs coming in I have to think they are 4th at most.

Jeff Goodman@GoodmanESPN 6m West Virginia's Juwan Staten is returning to school for senior campaign, his father told ESPN. There were prior reports stating otherwise.

Are you serious? First, he has 5 more years. Kane is older than a LOT of multi-year NBA all stars. But it also goes to upside. Smart's is much higher.

They both use being physical dominant to over match the opposition, and both will find that much harder at the next level. What happens when that is not the case? Who's game changed more the past year?

I certainly see why Smart should go higher, but I doubt the upside turns out to be what you think.
