With this being the first player of this size and background in Fred's system, I'm really excited to see what becomes of him.
Hopefully he'll share some of momma Niang's cookies.

I would disagree. Here's how to interpret the quote, IMO....
He's a nice prospect, but probably isn't going to be a 30 min/game guy next year that radically changes ISU except for added depth.
Certainly doesn't mean that he couldn't make a bigger splash or develop into a big impact guy as he matures throughout his career.
Also, it's not as if FF has seen enough of him to predict these things with 100% accuracy.
Gasol is one of the best centers in the NBA. It's like saying Hallice Cooke isn't Steph Curry. Kind of a no **** sherlock statement to me. As for his affect on conference standing, I would guess most would consider someone who is projected to be a starter to rise to the level of having a meaningfull affect on the conference race. I don't think there are many who think he will start.
While he can run pretty fast his vertical looks pretty mediocre. He'll need to get stronger and improve that if he want's to start. Before the Georges comments come in, he can get away with it because he's the most gifted post up scorer in the league. Doesn't need to jump.
Sounds exactly what I would expect. I don't expect him to make a difference in the conference race next year either. If he affects one game to be the difference in winning or losing I'll be happy.
