That's too bad. There are people camping on prime seats downstairs as younger donors with more money are stuck in the balcony.
The people camping will still have to meet the new minimum donation levels.

Summary:

Football this fall - due to construction starting there will me modifications to the south end this fall. South hills and south entrance will be modified during this construction phase. More to come later.

In last three years payroll and benefits have increased by over 4 million creating changes in ticket/donation to meet obligations.

University could face more than 1 million to meet what is being called the "full cost of attendance" for student athletes also contributing to ticket/donation changes.

They will not be reseating Hilton for MBB.

When basketball renewals are sent later this month there will be a ticket price increase and some parking adjustments. Donation level changes WILL NOT be implemented until 15-16.

By fall of this year they will distribute a summary of ticket prices and donation levels for the 15-16 fb and mbb season. Parking will also be included.

MBB ticket prices increase this year along with parking changes for bb. Both donation levels increase, MBB and FB tickets increase 15-16 seasons.

This is news to me! Lots A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, B-5, and B-6 are totally free. No need to donate. And at women's games, many more lots than that.

I didn't realize there were that many public spots. We've always had a parking pass with our donation. I would guess that the public parking may be moved all to the Jack Trice. Or something.

Just saying that we leave lots of money on the table by letting so many park for free at Hilton (and CY Stephens, for that matter). There's no other place I've gone to for games or concerts that let this happen...

You mean I have to give more money so that players can actually cover all their costs? What is this, China?

Could this be referring to one of the SEC changes the top 5 conferences want? Like maybe it's pretty much a done deal so they are planning ahead for it.?.

Good-bye family friendly events

I am happy that we're doing well. It just means they may be headed to out pricing families.

I don't know. I'm guessing they'll keep some cheap seats available. But they'll probably be in the $200 range.

I'm awfully curious as to what the donation level for my seats will end up being. I'm in the balcony along the side in row 3. We give $500, but we got those seats through the under 30 discount for several years and moved up quite a bit during the down Morgan and McDermott eras. I think the people around us are more in the $1000 range.

I wouldn't mind paying 200-250 for my upper deck ends. Still insanely cheap. Winning takes $.

I suspect that, too. At that point, if they've doubled within 3 years and are going up again, I think I'm out. There's only so much money around here.

MBB is the most exciting to watch right now, but definitely the least family friendly unfortunately. Other than the break games that they offer to the Jr. Cyclone Club we haven't been able to take our family to a MBB game. We used to have friends come in for a weekend to do a gymnastics meet ( 5young girls between our families) and a MBB game. The past 2 years we haven't been able to get tickets. We used to do football season tickets, have never had MBB. We just rely on the season tickets available when my retired parents vacation for 1-2 months during Jan and Feb. :)

New stadium upgrades will be great but coming off (possibly) two years in a row of no bowl game and a possible serious lack of momentum in the FB program and you jack up prices so much that you have to send a letter a year in advance to prepare the public? Hmmm, could certainly back fire here.

The letter seems like it was written by JP . . . and not edited by someone who is a better writer!

It seems like he felt he had to say something because rumors were taking off. For instance, the letter clearly states that we are not reseating Hilton this year. I find it interesting that this hasn't even been an issue on CF.

Wonder what he meant by "the south hills . . . will be modified during construction." Hope they start by tearing up the southwest hillside (where visitors sit)! Give a nice welcome to Lakes . . . to a mudside!

Is that $200 for the entire season? Wow. Nice.

The key issue, as far as retention, will be the changes that aare made in the Balcony sections. People should be donating $5,000 a year to sit in the lower level based upon our current success. However, what what happens if Fred leaves? How many people are going to donate 5k for McDermott type success? They need to be extremely careful how they approach the balcony donation levels. I think they are going to get extreme pushback if they raise the gold donation from $1,000 to $2,500.00. That is a hefty donation each year to sit in the balcony; even if they are the best balcony seats.

This is the way of the future when it comes to full coast of attendance. No one seemed to grasp that the "fans" were going to have to pay for the players increased benefits.

I Think This Was Expected in MBByin

With the MBB program as hot as it is, I think ticket price increases and charging for basketball parking was to be expected. It was nice paying less than $150 for balcony corners while it lasted. That said, if ISU is going to raise prices, it needs to make sure the game experience is first rate in all aspects. Otherwise they risk losing season ticket holders if the on court product isn't as strong.
The two MBB areas they should focus on are concessions and traffic control after games. With concessions the lines are long before the game and during half. Sure I can leave at a TV timeout, but then risk missing a couple minutes of game action. Also the quality of hot food is poor.
There also needs to be some effort to direct traffic out after games. Have the ISU logistics depr do a study and make recommendations. Do something! Last year for some conference games, it took 25+ minutes to get out of the Hilton lots.

With an consumer product if you pay more for a product, you expect not to have negative experiences or you find alternatives. In the cases of concessions and parking there are both.
