Which is kind of surprising to me. I think the Lakers should tank, get a pick, and then go after some in FA. They're the Lakers with Randle and another good player they could get a star FA because they're the Lakers.

The Lakers will more than likely suck this year anyways but tanking does nothing for them considering their 1st round pick goes to the Suns this year and it's a future 1st round pick they got from the Rockets. It could be in 2020.

So let me guess, you also believe that Diante will start over Kyle Lowry(even though he is going to be cut), Royce will start over Boogie Cousins, Ejim will get more playing time than Leonard, Babb will start and get 30+ min for the Celtics and Stevie Johnson will leave Euro ball and be the MVP of the NBA next season too??

No on all of those things. Kane is NBA ready though. Most are predicting he makes a squad. Which is why folks are optimistic. You are just an ***.

Box score below. Looks like Kane finished 3-4, 6 points, one assist in 11 minutes. But with 2 TO. Solid debut IMO, but he needs more playing time. Lots on his team did less but with more minutes.

http://www.nba.com/games/20140711/TORLAL/gameinfo.html

I saw the entire game. It was a typical summer league game where some people hog the ball. He didn't play a ton, but he was open plenty of times, but his teammates decided to pass to nobody. One of the TOs was probably 67% his fault, but his teammate missed something. He turned the corner around a double team and passed back, which was nice, but his teammate missed an assignment and Toronto barely stole the ball.

He didn't play amazingly well, but he didn't suck either. If a few of his teammates actually passed the ball, he would have done more. His first bucket was an ultra contested drive and layup over guys taller and bigger than him. He drew contact and still finished. His second basket was a nice fadeaway just inside the 3 pt line, and he had a reverse layup for his 3rd basket. His assist was also a no look pass on a fast break.

He was also playing SG, not PG, so he wasn't able to have the ball in his hands automatically all the time.

He has an expiring contract and they have cap space, meaning he fills a spot this year and they save money for next year's free agent group. Silly, but they have money they need to spend.

I think the Lakers also got a 1st round pick out of the deal.

When did I say he wasn't going to make a squad? I am being a **** because he made a moronic comment. Maybe you should go back and read his post about how Kane is the better than Nash and Marshall even with zero NBA experience. Making a statement like that shows how heavy the ISU blinders are on some people.

Partially correct. Thought you were at the Deere Classic.

I wouldn't throw stones from a glass house.

I stick by my opinion. RIGHT NOW Kane is better than Nash. Saying otherwise is a "moronic" comment. Marshall had all his points and assists backing up Nash (who missed a lot of games due to injury... hmmmm). The Lakers also were down in most of their games, so any stats he put up are a little inflated. Disagreeing with that is a "moronic" comment.

listen man, there's no need to be a dbag. Were all clone fans. Am I little biased, sure, but I'm not blind. Marshall isn't great. Would they cut him for Kane? Not sure. They're not keeping Lin or Nash. Marshall isn't a long term answer. If Kane is good enough, keep him in the d league until you can dump Nash and let Lin's contract expire. I think he makes their d league, and then gets called up. Essentially making the roster.

I dunno. The NBA is weird in that they draft on potential, but they sign free agents based on proven performance. Marshall is potential, and Lin is previous performance/has a contact that says previous performance, even tho he really doesn't.
