Everybody has said it, but I agree it all depends on your league settings. I'm not big on drafting QB early. Too many other QBs out there to miss out on top positions. Only TE worth a 1st round pick is Jimmy, after that you might as well wait for the 5th or 6th round maybe later to get one. There are some decent RBs to be had in the 2nd and 3rd rounds ie; Martin, Murray, Benard, Bell, Stacy.

Most leagues I'm in are PPR and auction so I will try for Graham and a top 5 WR. Then try and get Luck with some cheaper RBs and another Top 10 WR.

No matter what. Don't be that idiot who drafts a Kicker or Def early. Too many variables and not enough difference between them to validate an early pick or extra cash.

Mine is a 12 man PPR league, tds as 6. Luckily I have 3rd pick, so it's Rodgers all the way.

What's people's preferences Yahoo, ESPN, or something else?? I've done both, but I prefer Yahoo.

Tailg8er- I would probably go with a Green, Bryant, or Marshall at that spot. If top tiered rbs and qbs are gone, you might as well get a top tiered wr/te in those listed above or a Graham.

And Beast Mode, he's a lower first tier RB, but if he's holding out, i'd pick someone else. That position depends on your league scoring and what other people pick. If he's best available it makes it a tough choice for sure, but i'd go with a higher tiered wr and hold off for a sleeper.

My first 3 picks are usually 2 RBs and 1 WR or 3 RBs. You can always get a decent QB late in the draft. RB and WR drop off pretty quick.

I would start with a kicker and build from there.

Someone give me a reason to get excited. Usually I can't wait for some NFL and fantasy football, and I'm just not feeling it so far this year yet. I'm in 4 pay leagues, so I this is really going to suck.

If I get the first pick, I'm going with Peterson. Peterson wasn't 100% last year, so those that pass on him will regret it.

I would be up for joining a league with people from this site. A $100 buy in standard or auction draft. 10-14 team league. I could set it up if people would be interested in joining.

I have seen Peyton Manning as the first pick so far this year.

This is usually my thought too. We just had our offline draft Saturday (really early, but it's hard scheduling a good time for 12 adults with families). Overall I'm pleased & think I can make a good run with this squad, was really pleased to get Megatron with the 10th pick.

I watched a video from ESPN's Matthew Berry the other day and he was talking draft strategy. He said unless an elite QB in available, wait until the end. Either be one of the first 3 to pick a QB or the last 3. Same goes with TE's. The elite are impossible to pass up but after that the value flattens so you can still get someone decent at the end.

P. Manning, Brees, and Rodgers. Graham, J. Thomas, and maybe Gronkowski if you're willing to risk it.

I have no clue what my draft strategy will be until I see what order the draft will be. Our league does some odd scoring bonuses (lots of points for reception TDs by RBs) that I will have to pay better attention to this year in picking my 2nd and 3rd RBs. Jamaal Charles won my league for me last year. I am leery of him this year with the losses along the o-line KC had but I doubt if Charles will still be on the board when I pick.

I think you'd be better off with McCoy or Forte anyways. Cutler seemed to love to dump it off underneath to Forte a lot last year early on and that's half of eagles offense. I love watching McCoy run the ball.

I'm in a 10 team PPR where QB tds = 6 pnts so the QB elites fly off the board in the first round. We drew for draft positions last friday and....lucky me....I'm sitting at 8th. I already know that Peyton Manning will be picked up with the number 1 pick, now I just have to see where it goes from there. But knowing the guys in our league, I wouldn't be surprised if Brees is still available by my pick and I'll take him, otherwise I agree with some of the others and wait on a QB in the later rounds.

My strategy for now is going with a QB or RB with the first pick and definitely an elite WR with the second.....of course "strategy" goes out the window pretty much after the second pick.

Never understood why making QB tds worth more. Leagues I play a TD is worth 6 points no matter how it is scored

I'm in 12 team PPR, with the #10 pick. I pray for QBs and WRs to get picked in the 1st round before it gets to me so I can get the best possible RB1. It all depends on league scoring, but taking a QB early makes zero sense to me. Look at the difference in scoring last year. PPR scoring leagues showed that the elite QBs averaged 22+ points per week, while 2nd and 3rd tier QBs averaged around 20+ pts per week. Wasting a 1st or 2nd round pick on a QB to gain barely 2 pts. per week on a QB you can get in the 8th or 9th round? No way. I'll go RB, WR, then the best talent at RB or WR in the next two rounds, then hopefully I can get a borderline elite TE like Jordan Cameron or Jordan Reed in the 5th or 6th. If I can get Jay Cutler in the 8th, which I think is a solid possibility in my league, I'll be thrilled.

Do you know what the differences were between Elite RBs and 2nd and 3rd tier RBs? My guess is that the average dropoff is more than 2 points. That would be why I would look for the best possible RB first.

The only scenario where I MAY take QB first is if I pick LATE in the first and get one of the first few 2nd round picks as a result. If Peyton Manning is there at 10 he's going to look really good. My top RB may be 2 or 3 spots lower than it would have been, but QB is #1. Still might take two RBs or RB and WR in that slot. It all depends.
