Why wouldn't you? Despite the forward position being stacked for the 15-16 season, there is NOTHING in place for the 16-17 year with Niang, McKay and Nader graduating. For the 16-17 season, the guard position is stacked with Morris, Custer, Cooke, and Thomas. At the forward position there is...nobody! If you sign Diallo, who's likely a one-and-done, then there's not a single other forward on that roster as of now. Plus that gives another forward a year of experience under his belt. Granted two years is a long time away and anything can happen (transfers, etc), but saying that they wouldn't take two forwards is a clown statement.

(Maybe because it's 2 and a half years away)

How serious is Dillon Brooks in ISU? Does anyone know?

In this very recent interview, he talks briefly about his recruitment. Iowa State is the first school he mentions, before rattling off several others. Later in the video, he talks about his relationship with a certain Canadian shooting guard.

It seems like he was a little bit of a late bloomer, so his recruitment may just be ramping up, but it sounds like ISU has as good of a chance as anyone here. It might help, too, that there's not really a natural college 3 on our roster (depending on what we get from Nader, who would only intersect with Brooks for one year anyway).

Also saw this link that we got a crystal ball prediction for Chris Clarke. Anyone know the status of this guy?

The staff was on him early but appeared to cool in the spring. I know Iowa and Minnesota had been focusing on him this summer. Clarke had a good Peach Jam and received UCONN and Flordia offers in the past month. Hines recently mentioned after CC Peach Jam performance that he could see ISU re-upping attention to him, I assume he heard some whispers. Guess well see.

Every time I see a new post in this section I get all excited, like when a dog can't stop wagging his tail, thinking it's a possible commit, but it's just more offseason talk about recruits. Now that our basketball program has fans all excited, it just makes the offseason a slow pain. Hoping to hear about a commit soon with the school year starting in the next month for high school kids.

I do too and after seeing that video, I REALLY want this kid. If we somehow landed both Dillon and Cheick Diallo in this class, I would be ecstatic.

My top two wants with realistic chances are Diallo and Brooks. Brooks relationship with Naz along with our system and success with Canadians has to give us a great chance. I also think we have a great shot with Diallo. He visited once and plans on visiting again.

A 2015 of Darien Williams with Diallo and Brooks would be amazing.
