With only two scholarships remaining, Monte Morris, Clayton Custer and a more than capable combo guard in Hallice Cooke, it makes sense why we cooled on Jarvis Johnson. I'm not saying I don't want him but the need is somewhere else.
The hype about Jarvis did cool right after Cooke committed. With Cooke having to sit this year out, we will have two sophomores, a junior, and a senior at the guard position. It sounds like Jarvis may want to play early and it looks like he doesn't have a good chance to get in early with Cooke, Long, Morris, and Custer being the four guards that would get significant minutes.

Honestly, I think the staff cooled on Johnson a while ago. Just not a big need with Custer and Morris.

So, are you: a) Forgetting Matt Thomas; b) Writing him off; c) calling him a wing forward?

I simply forgot about him. That only makes my argument stronger anyway with Jarvis and struggling for playing time immediately. By his junior year I think Matt is capable of being a very solid player.

We cooled on Jarvis before that. Cooke was the reason we cooled on Noskowiak

Man, we are really getting ahead of the curve on this guy, which you gotta love to see. Lets hope he doesn't forget that fact when he likely blows up in the rankings.

I think he should be hoping that we don't forget about him after we blow up even harder the next two seasons.

I saw somewhere that he is a very similar prospect to Derrick Jones, one of the top athletes in 2015 and an ISU target. So likely a top 25 caliber of player. With Mar one state away and are undoubted success, there shouldn't be any forgetting going on

Anybody heard any news on AJ Turner or others? Other than Diallo, I can't remember who a priority for us is for 2015 now, as I'm "assuming" Ellenson is shown less interest.
