Lake Travis, Texas QB Commit

Hearing the QB commit from Lake Travis is going to miss the first 4 or so games of the season due to some off-field stupidity. What is wrong with these idiot kids who have the opportunity to get a totally free scholarship/education but insist on thinking they are gods. Hope this kid works out but from what I hear I am not keeping my fingers crossed!

Hearing he is the 2nd best QB on their team and second to a sophomore at that. Ouch!

Dandy, public knowledge re what DeLira did. Didn't make the press but hearing it wasn't alcohol. You can connect the dots. Not going to be playing for at least the first 4 games from what I am being told. Watch the paper after game day and do the math. We should be able to tell if my source is reliable or not. Either way sounds like he has some growing up to do.

bawbie, how is this 3rd hand information when it is the talk of the community? My friend who is a fellow Cyclone lives in Lake Travis and has for years. Everybody knows everything about LT football from what he says thus this is no secret. Besides, don't you think it will be quite obvious that something isn't right when the Senior QB is a no-show for the opening few games or such? The kid did some stupid stuff so now he hopefully grows and learns from it or else he will have a long life ahead of him if you ask me.

1) If he is the second best QB, maybe he isn't playing because he is the second best QB.

2) Poor grades can knock you out of high school for that long in HS competition

You have to do something pretty serious to get suspended for 4 games unless it's grade or injury related, so I'm not worried about it. I know people in Iowa high schools that have smoked weed, been busted, and suspended for a half of a game. Doubt it's that strict in Texas. So unless it's meth, in which case we would rescind our scholarship, I wouldn't worry about it.

OK, you guys win but let's just see who the starting QB is at LT next week and then you can see for yourselves that something isn't quite right. I just want us to recruit high character studs and not nit-wits. We need another Seneca in my opinion!

I don't know about the suspension but I do know that DD is not getting beat out by a soph. Lake Travis hs is rated as the 12th best team in all of tx and 62nd nationally. Delira was a stud last year. Lake Travis won the state title what 5 years in a row? 2007-2011? Delira isn't Elway but it doesn't take much looking at his highlight reel to understand he's going to be good.

You are correct and his name is Charlie Brewer the younger brother of the former stud LT and now D1 QB by the name of Michael Brewer. My buddy says that is the kid he hopes that we get a commitment from in a year or so. He is big time from what I am hearing! Later guys and enjoy your evening.
