The Bears defense can't be as bad as last year's. Last year's Bears defense was statistically the worst defense in the franchise's 94-year history.

And all that doesn't matter in most fantasy leagues. So long as you get sacks, INTs, fumbles and TDs and run a few kicks back you can give up a zillion points and yards.

That's what I thought. Weird. One of the best defensive plays this week is likely sitting on the waiver wire in 90% of leagues out there. Pittsburgh, at home, against a Josh Gordonless Cleveland with a dumpster fire at QB.

Surprisingly, Hoyer is actually a decent option at QB according to ESPN projections for this week.

We'll see who is right, but I just take this as a lesson to not trust ESPN projections.

Were there any players that you targeted for the later rounds of your draft?

I was looking at guys like Carlos Hyde, Devonta Freeman, Cody Latimer, and John Brown.

I took Freeman in the 13th or 14th round and Latimer in the 15th. Steven Jackson is not the same and I've read it's not a bad idea to stash Freeman if he's available really late. And I took Latimer because Welker is gone for a while and Decker is a Jet so he could step right in and be another Peyton Manning fantasy stud WR.

I joined an NFL Survivor pool at work for this season. $25 for the year, ten of us in the pool, pick one winner each week and you can never pick the same team twice all season. Once you lose a game you are out. Last guy standing takes all the cash. Should be interesting.

Right now I'm trying to balance taking an early QB and not waiting until too late. I have the #1 pick so the gap between the 24/25 picks and the 48/49 picks seems huge. Seems like all the QBs disappear by the 72/73 picks.


How do you guys feel about Kaepernick as a starter? Seems like if I wait to long I end up with him, Brady, or Romo

Very inconsistent. I had him last year and benched him most of the year. I was lucky to trade for brady/wilson later in the year. Romo and Brady are great late pickups.

I have him for now, but hes on my bench. I actually love my corp of RB's. LeSean McCoy, Giovanni Bernard, Richardson, Steven Jackson, and Pierre Thomas.

Looks like you need to trade some wrs for rbs. Stockpile and trade when they breakout or someone is in dire need.
