I can't really believe what's happened in just two years.
I was just thinking back to how I felt about Cyclone football at kickoff of the Liberty Bowl in 2012, and how that compares to now.

When I do hiring I always analyze the applicant's ability to meet commitments. It would be a red flag to me.
There were rumblings last year the players were having issues with the coaches (running them into the ground, etc.) and that's why the "players council" was created. It sounded like Rhoads and the coaches may have changed their style but, based on today, maybe not.
Wasn't this the same reason Jensen left the team last year?
Dude, it doesn't surprise me there are people who think like you, but I was taught that if you commit to something, you stick it out until the end, especially if others are counting on you. Nobody faults the guy for leaving, again, it is the timing. This me-first state of mind is not conducive to team sports. If he was a tennis player, or shot putter, no one would give a rats ***, but he COMMITTED to something bigger than himself.
Define commitment. If he left the team to focus on academics isn't that a better commitment to his education?
LOLOLOL.
I'm pretty sure the fact that English is his first language will have him employed in about 8 minutes.
Also, I don't think any employer in the world would consider him quitting football to concentrate on his studies or begin his career a negative.
The context of this conversation was completing a computer science degree and getting a job.
These graduates become application developers who work in teams and face build deadlines on a regular basis. You can't tell me that quitting on the team after the first week of the season doesn't, at the very least, raise a question mark on how the kid will react when the team is behind and facing a tight deadline.

This is just supposition but he did get burned quite a bit in pass protection last weekend. I wonder if they were going to start Campos and maybe he didn't want to continue if he wasn't going to be the starrter.

We may have a winner, I thought he didn't look very good Saturday

During the tailgate last Saturday, I was standing next to a parent of a staring O-Lineman. They stated that last year was not a good year for the kids under coach K. They also stated what a turn around this year has been and how much the players are really having playing for Blaney. So from a source more reliable than most on here, I think that theory is busted.
Iowa State confirms that offensive lineman Jacob Gannon has left the team for personal reasons. #Cyclones
ISU OL Jacob Gannon has left the football team, according to team spokesman Mike Green.
As @TommyBirch first reported, 5th yr sr. OT Jacob Gannon has quit the ISU football team for personal reasons. Yikes. #Cyclones
Just got off the phone with now Former #Cyclone OL Jake Gannon, to simply state it he just got "burnt out". Heck of a kid, brilliant & nice.
