This will not affect his marketability. His experiences will more than likely enhance it because the situations he's been through as an athlete outweighs anything the "regular guy" has been through. Also, the argument of two guys having the same qualifications don't fly because no two people are exactly the same. Something will separate them and I'm pretty sure the decision to quit college football in the 5th year is not on the list.

I don't really care for the reason he quit honestly, I agree its the timing I care about. If we are going to not be very good this year, then getting Campos/Lazard etc all the reps we can is only going to help us in the future.

That's only true if the staff puts him and Lazard in a position to develop and succeed. There's risk in throwing a guy out on the field when he's not ready yet. I thought about that watching Richardson in the pocket last week. He definitely looked a little skittish, and that lack of confidence comes from the terrible spot he was put in last year with Messingham's "game plans".

Okay, this stinks, but if the kid does not have a 100% commitment to playing FB it is going to show on the field. Gannon was not everyone's all-American. He was valuable to the team because he could move into most of the positions on the OL if someone got hurt, which is a great thing for ISU, because, well you all know why.

I suspect that it was one of those deals where JG was not sure he wanted to play this year, but didn't want to let his team mates down. After the embarrassing loss to NDSU he was probably questioning coming back for his senior year. A coach got on his case about something and he decided the heck with this, I have classes I need to study for.

The hiring part is stupid, this wouldn't affect me hiring this kid at all, and as someone looking for software engineers, I'd love for him to apply.

But that quote doesn't jive with storming off the practice field 2 days before a game. That is what you calmly say at the end of the season, or during spring ball, or the beginning of camp. Once you get to game week, that doesn't cut it for me.

You are right. Something isnt right about why he left. Everyone is panicing on the site today and arguing with each other when in reality we all agree with each other. He left the team, timing was horrible, and we have no idea why and quite honestly we will probably never find out the whole story. While it appears because of timing he may have made a poor judgment call, he does appear to be a stand up enough and intelligent enough guy to not cause further damage to his teammates or coaches by calling everyone out. So he replied with the ever popular "Personal Reasons."

Rewatching the game, our linebackers were out of position/too weak/ too nonaggressive/too out of balance and led to the demise of the defense. The oline did not look too bad, but the experience of NDSU defense fooled our experienced offense the second half. They had a good scheme.

momentum. Rhoads has to stem that and get folks to believe or it will unravel quickly and end like mcdemott.

Feel the same way. All the inertia in the program feels quite negative. We need a win badly, or really just something positive at this point. If we lose in single digits on Saturday and Sam has a huge passing day with Lazard and Montgomery, even that would help a ton.

All we can do now is pray these new guys are 'gamers' and really show up on game day.

Im more excited with someone new than I would have been watching the same old crap.

This thread has taught me one thing, there is absolutely no middle ground anywhere on any topic any more. At all.
