Why would he give his name? When it comes down to it isn't this the type of info people really want to hear? It's like watching a NASCAR race for most people. No one cares until there is a crash. When the Cyclones are clearly on a downward spiral and someone has information about something that could be going on people want to hear it.

The reaction to that information is what's funny to me. There's far too much smoke for there not to be a fire, and it cracks me up that so many people still want to dismiss it and pretend like everything is rainbows and butterflies. Instead of considering the fact that what's being said may actually be true... Let's attack the guy who said it! The human brain is such a complicated machine. People will believe whatever they want to believe in order to avoid a tough reality.

There is a lot of smoke to the contrary, so your theory applies both ways.

I have no idea if what is said here is true, but I love how a parent of a former walk on "piles on" when the chips are down. I would be so embarrassed if my parents ever did something like this, even if true. I'll put money on it that the caller didn't give his name.

Looks like it was Rob Myers who was a LB last year according to roster who went to Ankeny and Iowa Western. The father also said he wore the number 31 and Myers wore that number last year for ISU.

I'd say the people who think it's still rainbows and butterflies are in the minority here.

I'll give you that, but what do the results tell you? Is this team playing like it's together?

There was a very rocky offseason followed by a horrendous opening loss, and then a veteran player who by all accounts seems like he was a good kid decides to say screw this I'm done. I don't think you need to have a mole inside of the program to know that there is probably a divide growing. That doesn't mean all of players hate Rhoads. I would never suggest that. All I'm saying is that people need to chill with the whole "attack the messenger" nonsense because the evidence suggests there's probably truth in what is being said no matter how badly you want to believe the opposite.

I'm sorry but the parent of a scrub walk on that transfers to a D2 school carries very little credibility.

That's like a summer intern Goofy mascot at Disney saying the CEO doesn't know what he's doing and the Disney brand is at stake.

While the loss to NDSU sucks ****, it wouldn't call it horrendous. They're the 3-time defending FCS champ playing against a bottom tier FBS team. It wasn't like anyone was really surprised.

And I'm sure this divide you're talking about isn't only at ISU. I imagine a team like South Carolina has a little divide this week after getting smoked by Texas A&M. Divide is everywhere. Every program has a handful of second string guys who believe they should be the starter and since they aren't they hold a grudge against the coaching staff.

Or maybe the players that don't like Rhoads/Mangino/Wally are leaving, and that is what we are seeing, not a "divide".

Its just like the McDermott days all over again. Pay no attention to mounting evidence, attack any former insiders that speak out, and stick up for the multimillionaire local boy in way over his head.

This will end well.

Well, if we lose the first four games by blowouts, ra-ra speeches will have a short life. It will be more like "Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?"

I never claimed that what the caller was stating isn't true, I have no idea, I'm not on the roster. My point in my post is I have very little respect for little "tattle tales" who take the opportunity to pile on when the chips are down. It's immature and really classless IMO. If you have such information you tell your friends, discuss it around the water cooler, but to call into a radio show for no other purpose to "be the man with the info".....it's embarrassing. As I read the OP, my first thought was "must be a hawk". That's how it comes across to me.

Being the man with the info is why pay boards exist and make money. Maybe you didn't want to hear it but I bet there are people out there that do.

Speaking from experience, they may have felt that for the greater good, it was important for the public to know what was going on in the locker room.

He also almost but never quite said that his kid would've never gotten any playing time -- which was probably the real reason he left the program.

It is my opinion, that at some point in the near future people are going to look back at what's going on right now as the turning point in Rhoads tenure. Maybe some info will come out that fans will actually believe, maybe it won't. That's besides the point. I just think when you combine the losses with the turmoil from the past 6 months it's going to be far too much to overcome.

Again, that's just my opinion. I'm not asking you to believe it or not. I'm just sharing how I feel. Maybe 6 months from now I'll be wrong.
