The Twins suck yet I hear their clubhouse demeanor is excellent. Maybe we need to hire Gardy as our football coach.

Gardy is amazing. Most of the years they went to the playoffs, he was the one that harnessed a lot of no names at the time into talent. Then of course, they get plucked by other teams.

I'll give you that, but what do the results tell you? Is this team playing like it's together?

There was a very rocky offseason followed by a horrendous opening loss, and then a veteran player who by all accounts seems like he was a good kid decides to say screw this I'm done. I don't think you need to have a mole inside of the program to know that there is probably a divide growing. That doesn't mean all of players hate Rhoads. I would never suggest that. All I'm saying is that people need to chill with the whole "attack the messenger" nonsense because the evidence suggests there's probably truth in what is being said no matter how badly you want to believe the opposite.

I honestly believe that if CPR was fired/stepped down, your underwear would be wet.

It is my opinion, that at some point in the near future people are going to look back at what's going on right now as the turning point in Rhoads tenure. Maybe some info will come out that fans will actually believe, maybe it won't. That's besides the point. I just think when you combine the losses with the turmoil from the past 6 months it's going to be far too much to overcome.

Again, that's just my opinion. I'm not asking you to believe it or not. I'm just sharing how I feel. Maybe 6 months from now I'll be wrong.

I love your passion for ISU athletics! There was a time not so long ago when hok fans ACTUALLY didn't care about ISU, not just pretend like they don't care. Thx for poasting.

Speaking from experience, they may have felt that for the greater good, it was important for the public to know what was going on in the locker room.

You must be a female that watches all the reality TV shows to try to feel better about your own miserable existence.

Because that is the only way second hand gossip from a player, who left the program, being negative about the coach could ever be considered a good thing by a "fan" of the school where he is employed.

And if you are going to make ****** statements, then have the courage to put your name to them. It's chicken ****, or vogs/110 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> his iq like.

My bot would be electrified if we could expect eight wins a year. That may not happen under the current system. Hope the first year was not Peak Paul. After six years of Dan, what did we feel the upside was? What do we think is Paul's upside at this point in this sordid, tough old conference? The first week results indicate an arms race is underway in the B12. We are still trying to beat opening game nemesises.

Its just like the McDermott days all over again. Pay no attention to mounting evidence, attack any former insiders that speak out, and stick up for the multimillionaire local boy in way over his head.

This will end well.

I actually had this discussion the other day. McD didn't have any kind of success and CPR has gone to a couple of bowl games but the program is teetering on the edge of going off the cliff like mbb did under Greg. Greg had defenders down to the bitter end and I think it's going to be a lot worse with CPR because he's more popular than Greg was. There's people who have bought so much into the postgame speeches and the so proud tagline that they care more about having him as our coach than wins/losses

I have no idea if what is said here is true, but I love how a parent of a former walk on "piles on" when the chips are down. I would be so embarrassed if my parents ever did something like this, even if true. I'll put money on it that the caller didn't give his name.

Good chance it was a hawk fan piling on as well.

I wasn't arguing if Paul should/should not be coach, I was arguing Section's obsession with CPR failing. I imagine him sitting down at the 8th grade lunch table where all the kids are talking Iowa football, his Iowa Starter jacket on, and jumping into the conversation every so often with a "LOL PAUL RHOADS SUCKS GUYS!"

I have two choices:

1). Support the players and coaches that chose to come to the school I cheer for and that play/coach to the best of their abilities each week whether they like each other or not.

2). Applaud those who walk out and/or complain about the players and coaches that chose to come to the school I cheer for and that play/coach to the best of their abilities each week whether they like each other or not.

I'll go with Option #1.

Let's see. We sucked last year. The players contributed to last year's less-than-impressive results. Coaches needed to change (and many are now gone). Players need to change too however some can't handle the change...even though they proved that what they did last year didn't work.

You're going to get fallout when changes are needed. But some players aren't going to buy-in to the fact they the contributed to recent failures because it means they have to man-up and share in the blame.

This isn't really that complicated IMO. You're going to have causalities when you change things up.

110 please do us all a favor and take another break from CF. Your know it all Hawkeye insight is the most annoying thing on this board. I fall somewhere in between the CPR haters and defenders. This discussion should be for Cyclone fans on this board and not be polluted by your thoughts. TIA.

You sure you don't want him to stick around? He's heard some stuff on message boards that suggest some players don't like Rhoads...I think we can really utilize his inside info on here

And it is my opinion that literally every minute that passes by (on and off the field) could be deemed a turning point. Here are a couple to name a few:

Loss vs UNI
QB Sam Richardson's injuries
All Offensive Linemen injuries
Loss vs Baylor
Win vs Kansas
Win vs WVU
Firing Messingham
Hiring Mangino
Loss of Irving and Coe
Loss vs NDSU
Loss of Gannon

All turning points, some in the right direction and some in the wrong direction.

The parent of a walk-on who transferred?

That's about all I needed to know....

The parent of a player who was on the team. Practiced with the team. Was in film study, summer camp, daily practices with the team. The parent of a player who knows 1000% more than anyone on this board. Before you judge based on the walk-on aspect, try reading between the lines. Where there is smoke there is fire. Ignore all the warning signs you want.

There's far too much smoke for there not to be a fire, and it cracks me up that so many people still want to dismiss it and pretend like everything is rainbows and butterflies. .

Doesn't matter if there's a fire or not ...... the kid walked out on his teammates instead of staying and working through this with them. Fire or no fire, the kid is a quitter and weak willed.
