Lots of open receivers today

One thing I noticed was that Sam had a lot more time to throw than last week. Respect to the OL for having a great day with excellent pass protection.

It makes such a big difference for your QB to be able to go through his progressions. Receivers were getting open and there were so many plays where Sam had his choice of more than one guy who was open on his route.

I think the offense is learning and growing. We had the Nealy fumble at the goal-line as well.

Lots to like about both offense and defense today.

Cheers

While it might be a product of the defense, Sam looked fantastic today. He seems to really have grown under Mangino.

He had the time to throw today that most QB's we play against have all the time. Sam is the best QB we've had in awhile. Accurate, can scramble and usually picks the right time to take off. Just don't like him running read option. That's just not his game.

Iowa's LB's are terrible in pass coverage. Just awful. Our offense took advantage of that.
