How did Clemson not score on that touchdown that was reviewed. It looked like he was down at the half yard line and I flipped to the OU game. Oh snap just saw the highlights. Lord Clemson shot both feet clean off.

i said earlier in this thread that I agreed with Jimbo suspending him, but he didn't do anything illegal. I have no problem with him being on the sideline.
Jamis is guilty of being a grade A tool. If only that was illegal, it would make my commute to work much quicker.

I long for the days of yesteryear when there wasn't twitter, and ESPN didn't have the power to probe into all of these kids' lives as deeply as they can.

Is what he said right at all? Hell no, the guy is a grade A moron. In this day and age especially with his history, he should know better. But there are a lot of morons in this world that have played college sports, always have been. I am sick of being exposed to what stupid things are said on twitter everyday, and I don't have an account. The problem is people on twitter have to "tweet" every single thought that comes through their mind these days. Its stupid. rant over.

I'm 100% with you. In a week where all we've talked about is athletes hitting women and children (ie. actual bad acts), jumping up on a table and saying something silly is a complete non issue. Half a game for something that could have/should have drawn windsprints is overkill. A full game? Ridiculous.

He wasn't suspended because of this one issue but a culmination of issues spanning the last 18 months. I think it is good a coach and university president had the balls to do something, and did it what will likely be their toughest game of the year.

really? Because FSU's own press release where they increased the suspension, mentioned nothing about past incidents, only the table shouting.

"Based upon the results of our continuing investigation of Tuesday’s incident involving Jameis Winston, we have decided to not play him for the entire game against Clemsonon Saturday night."

Wow FSU needs to proofread their press releases

So that's why Jameis put on his pads. He thought he was only suspended when they played Clemsonon, not Clemson.

Yes really, since when do press releases give the public all of the information. What do you expect them to say, because Jameis has been accused of sexual assault, shooting squirrels on campus, and stealing crab legs we have decided to suspend him for the Clemson game for yelling an obscenity.

I know you're not really so naive to believe that. Winston has been nothing but trouble off the field for a year and a half, and to think his track record wasn't a factor in determining punishment is pretty foolish. He was accused of sexual assault in a very high profile case less than a year ago. He deserved to be suspended for, after that whole ordeal, being stupid enough to make a scene and shout something like that.

Oh really? They didn't bring up three other occurrences and open up the opportunity to have questions asked about those things? Good grief. The guy should have been suspended for a game in an effort to develop some self awareness or social intelligence. He also lied when he initially told his side of the story.

Bigman, why don't you try walking in my shoes for a while?

So I did a little experiment on Saturday.

Took the garbage out, came back in the house and promptly shouted in a loud enough voice "**** her in the *****!"

My wife comes around the corner and asks "what the hell was that?"

"It's a meme honey, it's funny."

"A what?" (then began a very poor explanation of what the hell a meme is)

"You can't be offended, it's a meme, it's a joke, it's funny"

"It's so not!" and a few other choice words, comments and suggestions.

I then proceeded to explain what had happened, the discussions and viewpoints here - and further more why she couldn't be offended.

"it's comparable to the 'that's what she said' lines. It's funny"

That wasn't well received either.

I encourage some of the others on this board to repeat said experiment and see how well your "not a big deal" theory holds up.

All that proves is that your wife isn't very cool.

Look, if you want to be offended, be offended. Nobody can tell you or your sheltered wife what you can and can't be offended by. But, take a step back and see exactly what you're being so butthurt about. A college student said something vulgar. Stop the presses! How will society survive?

With that logic you should never delete a post post or ban someone again, let's just get rid of mods all together. Not my fault if you are offended by what I say, nor should I ever be held accountable.

I have too much respect for Angie to take a similar shot at her. But afraid I've lost mine for you. And a while ago. I know you're crushed.

But go ahead, take it up a notch and repeat. Try it on your front lawn. Go ahead. I triple dog dare.

Fact is, you won't. I wouldn't put it past you to say you did - but you won't.

I find it particularly mature, yet not unexpected, that you would take shots and poke fun at a woman you've never met, nor has ever said a word to you Janny. That alone, probably speaks more to your position on this than anything else.

Edit: Futhermore - I'm not all that "butthurt" over it. I think it's actually rather stupid, and I was fine personally with the half game and didn't really care that they moved it to a full. I'm not sure what happened Sat night at the game that has everyone riled up this morning. But I think you and your ilk are the one's "butthurt", probably because your juvenile sense of humor has come under fire.

In anticipation of how the game would go, FSU was probably thinking of Clemsoning, and in some kind of Freudian slip, ended up with Clemsonon...
