I'm a little surprised; I figured this would be like a 9-to-1 runaway for Diallo.
Beating Baylor, by itself, won't mean jack in the grand scheme of things...it'd be just another one of the dozens of upsets that happen every year in college football. If it sparks a five game winning streak or something like that, it's a different story, but that's not the question.
Getting Diallo on the other hand, that's huge not only for potential performance but for buzz/hype/publicity. If Diallo were joining this year, we'd be a consensus Top 10 team...many people would be predicting us to win the Big 12 (not just saying they wouldn't be surprised if we dethroned Kansas, but actually picking us to do it). A player like Diallo has the opportunity to keep his team in the headlines and rankings all season long, and when they start hitting their stride in March, anything can happen. Diallo would give us our best shot at a national championship since 2000, and I don't need to tell you what dividends that would pay in the future...
This is a no-brainer decision.
