Sorry to be so overtly negative...But what play in our history is worse than not covering that kickoff? This has to be the new leader in the clubhouse. That's a NATIONAL embarrassment. When was the last time that happened on a non onside kick?

The missed field goal vs. Mizzou in '04 still stands tall.

The following season's debacles are certainly worthy too.

I thought CPR had a chance to change the culture for the actual amount of success but it's right on par.

I've seen quite a few kicks like that and this is the first time that I can remember that the announcers actually knew it was a live free ball.

Robins, Iowa
It is right up there, but I remember Jim Criner's team fumbling a kickoff in the endzone that Iowa recovered.

That's not negative, that's honest. We have bad football players that is the bottom line. That shouldn't happen.

I don't know. The Coach can Coach differently, but the culture of the Offense hasn't changed a bit. We need some players.

Looking to see how many of you whiners want to suit up and go play the game how you think it should be played.

Hurry up. Bus is running.

That was an epic brain fart. Going to be on ESPN highlights because of the uniqueness of it and the sheer stupidity of it.

Running the option from the 1 yard line at Colorado in 2008 in the last play of the game. Score and get the win, instead, I think it was Alexander Robinson who got crushed.

Losing that kickoff today will be tough to beat, though. Very, very tough. Complete embarrassment.

I think we lost to Drake once as well

20-17 and then Drake dropped D1 football for the following season.

It takes intestinal fortitude to be a Cyclone fan. I have 30 years of scars to show for it.

But also a handful of great memories - Okie State upset, knocking off Nebraska in '92, the first Insight Bowl road trip/9 win season, Seneca Wallace, etc.

We've secretly replaced Iowa State's kickoff return team with Iowa's onside kickoff return team. Let's see if anything happens. That was as bad as Iowa watching the onside kick go by them against directional Michigan two years ago.

I will never forget that one. I was on the phone with my brother and told him option right coming up for no gain, and sure enough.

The amount of soul-crushing head-scratching plays/decisions I've seen from ISU and Iowa over the years would fill many pages in a very large book.

my wife went to Drake. After that game I said we should give Drake the stadium and be the ones to give up football since I guess we did,, but not have to put up with this stuff.
