$120 charge put a hold on your card?

Well the actual order was about $300, plus the $120. But don't some purchases put a temporary hold on the account until the money clears? Cause if that's not the issue, then I don't know what the hell is going on with my debit card.

How do people lose sunglasses so frequently? Is the biggest reason leaving them on a restaurant table?

I did that a couple years ago on New Year's in Iowa City. Just walked off without a pair of Flak Jackets and drove back to Corydon. But that's the only time I've ever lost a pair of sunglasses, and I've been wearing Oakleys for nearly 10 years.

Gas and hotel reservations are about the only two I can think of.

More of a ****** off brag, since it's also put a hold on my debit card, which prevented me from buying groceries after getting off work tonight. I'm not on the verge of starving or anything, but it was incredibly annoying/embarrassing.

I was gonna make some comment about spending $120 on sunglasses when $240 put a hold on your debit card, but **** it. I had $.78 in my bank account for 3 weeks when I was in college. I ain't judging.

My friend's toddler snapped his $130 pair of Ray Bans. He bought cheap sunglasses for the next few years. When she was 5 he bought a pair of Oakleys. A year later, his son was born. 6 months later, his son snapped his Oakleys in half.

I've got a pair of $30 Igogs i bought for a fishing trip 3 years ago that are still going strong. They've been tossed around tractor/combine cabs, my truck, kids messing with them, etc. Plus they are comfortable as can be on my giant gourd. For the cost Oakley's better give me Xray vision or something because my cheap glasses give me all the benefits that Oakley wearers talk about. And before anyone asks yes I have tried on Oakleys, didn't see what was worth the extra cost.

The only expensive glasses I ever contemplated buying were a pair of Costa Del Mar's. Still didn't see how the extra cost was worth it.

He's talking about charges showing up as pending which will happen basically every time you use your debit card until it actually posts to the account.

Yea, but that's not really a hold is it? Pending charges come out of my available balance at my bank. So I always know where I'm at.

I talked with the bank and got it fixed. My card was placed on a security hold because the purchase was flagged as suspicious activity.

We've had that happen to us a couple of times. My wife will order canvas prints, etc from random places and it will flag it. I'm actually glad they do it as it shows they can help catch fraudulent purchases as they happen.

Plus they go great with jean shorts. Just kidding.

Pleated pants are probably one of the top three types of pants in the world but that doesnt make them ok to wear.

This thread would make more sense if it was 1994.

I'd rock oakleys in a time machine.

Oakley. LOL.

It's definitely not a bad thing, IMO. I just need to update my account info so that the phone call comes to me instead of back home. This would have been a very quick fix if I'd done that already, but not knowing my card was on hold until I was trying to buy something else was annoying.

The bank playing fashion police. Suspicious you bought oakleys lol.

To be fair, a $300+ purchase is definitely unusual for me (although it won't be once I start renting camera equipment for state tournaments).

I bought a pair like these for vacation last year as my souvenir rather than buying a bunch of crap I won't use. They're nice and comfy.

:biglaugh: at the posters that think Oakleys are out of style, but are also the same ones wearing $5 sunglasses that do nothing.
