His shot selection seems pretty good.

I like the look of him, Niang and McKay on the front line next year with Monte distributing and 3 insane 3 point shooters in Naz, Thomas and Cooke.

Yes, he looks like a very similar player to McKay. High flying dunks and blocked shots. He may not be quite as quick as McKay, but a little thicker.

He would fit in really well with our offense and provide a continued defensive post presence after McKay graduates.

Diallo may have more of a name, but I wouldn't be surprised if two years of Dime is > than 1 year of Diallo in terms of production.

Conspiracy theory #1. Note I don't believe this but interested to see what everyone would say in light of the RV situation.

What if Fred was at the IHCC game to tell Dime that Diallo has silent committed (but won't verbal/sign until spring) and that we love him so commit with that knowledge or go elsewhere? Would you be on board with that game this time around? Or would you rather give Diallo the ultimatum and take Dime's commitment and have Diallo possibly cool on us?

Silent Committed is not a thing.

Diallo couldn't care less about Dime's commitment.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

Dime would be a good pickup, but if he ends up committing elsewhere, it's not the end of the world. I would rather keep the scholly for a transfer 3 after this year that I'm sure Fred could pluck from somewhere or keep it for Diallo.

Don't get me wrong, I think Dime is a good player, he just doesn't fit what Hoiberg seems to want to do. (Yes I know CFH will adapt his offense to what works best)

Looking at his tape, he seems to be primarily a Dunking/block threat. Unless his outside game wasn't shown in the video, it's hard to judge what he would turn out to be. When McKay came in, he didn't have a great shot either, but he also had a whole offseason to work on his shot with Hoiberg.

I also think our Front court is going to be a big strength of ours for 2015-2016. Personally I'm more excited about Darien Williams coming in next year.

The staff really wants Dime. It wouldn't be the end of the world if he didn't come here but if Fred wants him I want him

If we want to consistently take down KU and their refs I think we will typically need a player like McKay or Dime even if they don't have an outside shot. I assume winning the conference is an annual goal and Self's teams have less weaknesses and are better coached than Roy's were when we knocked him off. Who knows what athletic freaks like Embiid they will trot out two seasons from now.

He may wear McKay's old number, but Jameel was a two-time first All American at IHCC. Dime was an off the bench player that was a fouling & a shot blocking machine in his limited minutes(11 minutes/game). He may show great improvement this year and certainly has athletic ability, I hope we land him. Diallo is a projected lottery pick, he would be expected to provide a much greater impact to the school he chooses to attend.

Here is Eric Bossi's assessment from the Mullen Juco Jamboree this weekend, which Fred attended:

Long, runs. Pretty bouncy and quick around the goal. A bit mechanical offensively and slender.

Silent Committed is not a thing. - TRUE

Diallo couldn't care less about Dime's commitment. - We don't know that. He's not scared of Dime, to be sure, but it could still impact his PT and thus his decision. We never know what a recruit is thinking.

It's so weird that Fred is recruiting him so hard.

So a player that Fred wants doesn't fit into what Fred is trying to do? Fred should really get his story straight with Fred, to make sure Fred is on the same page with himeself.
