First, let me say that I thought BDJ posing for that dunk on the fast break was hilarious. But I saw a surprising amount of people commenting on ISU men's basketball FB page that he shouldn't have done it and he needs to cut it out.

Just curious if a lot of people feel this way, because I thought it was harmless.

People don't like fun.
I'm sure they feel it wasn't sportsmanlike, but there's really nothing awful about that one.

I'm trying to think of other people that have been able to pose while dunking. It can't be a long list.

I for one didn't like it and if I remember right CFH took him out right after that. Maybe a coincidence but I say no.

IMO, the reverse dunk he did was even more of a "showboating" or "unsportsmanlike" move. Either way, loved them both. #hoiball

As long as he doesn't fip off a crowd it's fine.

But that guy was a model citizen!

No, he probably shouldn't have done it against the fighting V-hawks. But who cares, I think that shows he is excited to get out and play. Remember, he has had Dave Rice as his coach. His pro-style offense wasn't thrilling like this one.

Between him and Morris, the opposing backcourt better take good care of the ball, both are quick and BDJ is very long (TWSS)

Confidence wins games. I have no doubt hes respectful off the court. This game is very much a mental game as well. You want your team to have confidence in themselves and do their best to ruin their opponents'

Was it showboating...absolutely. Is it any worse than players who do it after the play i.e. flexing.....? D. Kane was notorious for that and I don't remember anyone complaining.

That was BDJ's way of introducing himself to Cyclone fans. I loved it. The people complaining about it are limited to just Clonedude, and that dude is just a frickin whiner.

I thought it was awesome, and my only hope is he does this VS. Kansas, and Iowa 6 times.

Way up there
I could care less what he does as long as he makes the basket. Its funny how people forget how we reacted to opponents showboating.

Kane always flexed and taunted the crowd. Ejim flipped the crowd off. Now BDJ does this. I'm not too worried about it.

good teams have swagger. I have no problem with people hating us because we're throwing down highlight reel dunks on them and running them out of the gym. haters gonna hate

Surprising amount of people? Show me more than 1 that had an issue with it.

Also, it is the main picture for story about the game on cyclones.com, so I don't think too many people in the program are upset about it.

Geeeez.... here we go again. Cyclonessince78's infatuation with me again. I love you too buddy.

In my post last night regarding this event, I specifically stated that I personally didn't have a problem with it, but I thought that Fred might have. That was it.

And in this thread alone, there are 3 other posters questioning whether or not it was a good idea or not, but yet, Cyclonessince78 has to bring up me as the only person upset about it, and ironically, I wasn't even upset about it at all.

I questioned how Fred was going to take it, that's it. And as someone else said already, Fred took him out right after that. I'm sure he might have told him tone it down a bit and make the simple play next time.... because I've heard Fred talk about making the simple play about a million times since he's been here.

As fans we may love the flashy, showboating dunks, but most head coaches don't care for it much. That was my only point last night. But feel free to twist my words so that you can find a reason to ridicule me.... whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

Yep, I'm the only one.... even though I didn't have a problem with it. Got it.

Man, you really are clueless, aren't you. You should change your name to Cluelesssince78.
