What's it matter who started? Did Steele throw 4 TDs and run for another? No. Richardson did and won the game.
My point is why should Grant take a backseat with some successful history to a guy that has never taken a snap?

This. How many true freshmen really make an impact? Even Johnny Football redshirted.

We are in agreement there. There will always be a fascination with the backup (or third-string) quarterback despite the coaches not thinking they should play.My point is why should Grant take a backseat with some successful history to a guy that has never taken a snap?
Staff is supposedly VERY high on him. If he can pick up the scheme and the nuances of being a Big 12 QB, he could be special. Whether that means he gets snaps this weekend or not, I have no idea.
Has he ever played one snap for ISU? In a previous thread people were saying that Sam was out on Saturday. If the game gets to a point where we are up 34-0 like last year, is there ANY chance that Joel will get a sliver of a shot to prove his worth and sub in for Rohach.
I remember hearing rumors back in Ankeny that he struggled in school somewhat, and I'm not sure if that's an issue here, too (Let's be honest, HS rumors aren't exactly the most accurate).
At the end of this year, I wouldn't blame him for wanting to transfer.
Maybe I'm being a homer, and just want to see him play, but I think he's got some talent.

b/c why? Rohach won 2 Big12 games, throwing for 300 yds + in both. How many has Sam won as a starter? Lanning hasn't even seen the field yet.
How did Lanning not play a snap yesterday
I don't think that most people would disagree. Most people are also sick of people discounting that win by Sam simply because he didn't start. It is probably more of an accomplishment considering he had to come off the bench during the game to do it.
This coaching staff has been "high" on Arnaud, Tiller, Barnett, Jantz, Capello, Richardson, Rohach....doesn't mean much. To be honest, I think (barring injuries, like today) Sam is the last non Mangino QB recruit we'll see start.
Dumb comment. If "Sam is the last non-Mangino recruit we'll see start," are you saying Delira is the answer? He's not! Mangenius delivers us a 2-Star as his first offensive personnel move...the most important position on the field and we get a weak armed, undersized 2-Star QB recruit with off field issues.
Personnel is not not proving in 2015. The program needs a total overhaul.

Rohach beat Kansas and West Virginia, who lost to Kansas. Clearly better than Sam.

During the season probably not. During the off season this wouldn't surprise me.Smoking weed is off the field issues? My how clueless you really are. I can guarantee you that over half the team smokes weed.
