Down to ISU, Indiana, Wake Forest and Colorado for NO WINS in their conference.

All have two non conf wins except for Indiana who has three wins.

I do not count Kent State or SMU as being equals although they are FBS.

For the record, the worst FBS team is SMU. We needed them to join the B12 so we could play them.

The race for the bottom.

So, this season has a purpose after all.

I have made it very clear over the last couple weeks I think it is time to move on from Rhoads. I have also made it very clear I think he has faced an uphill battle that makes his tenure unique from that of his predecessors.

Dude, they stopped paying attention to any and all facts and reasons for the way things are a long time ago. But if you don't hate Paul Rhoads, and want him dead, then you are an apologist.

If you don't see the reality of Iowa State football and the history that has led to this point, then you are a rainbow pumper.

The dumbest part is that nothing will change, and we will be here again in 5 years with all of these "reasonable" expectations that won't be met again.

Be interesting to see who JP can get

And yet the same thing was said before Orr and Fennely came to ISU - you can't win at ISU, there's no history, nobody good will come to play, the same lame *** excused people keep making for the football team. Is it easier in basketball? Maybe - but not when both programs were as historically bad as they were before both coaches showed up.

if you don't have a "reasonable" expectation to win, why even bother having a program.

I didn't think it was possible to use the words "fun" and "2 wins" in the same sentence.

"Fun" is okay in the sarcastic sense. Unfortunately, I think OP is pumping rainbows about this season by saying "Hey - we have exactly as many wins over winning teams as the 2000 team did during its regular season" while completely ignoring my reality check that they were 6-0 against the teams they "should" beat while we're 0-4 against "should beat" teams. (In truth the 2000 team was 8-0 against "should beat" teams as all MAC and bad MWC teams should fit into that category)

With Iowa's win today our 2 wins are both over teams that will finish the season with 6 or more wins. In 2000, when ISU went 8-3 in the regular season, they only beat 2 teams with 6 or more wins (UNLV finished the season 7-5 and Ohio finished 7-4)

Not much of a consolation for the season, I just thought it was interesting.

Edit: updated to corrected regular season results as pointed out by jdoggivjc.

Regardless what the angry say, this was an interesting post. My take is ISU is no worse then we have always been. Doesn't make it okay, but says we are not worse.

The question is how many of those teams could ISU beat?

YES: SMU, Kent St, Georgia St
MAYBE?: Wake Forest
NO: Indiana, Vanderbilt, Colorado

SMU was one of the best in the early 80's, cheated, got the death penalty, had a 30 for 30 made about their EXCE$$, and is now back to the ISU level. Fantastic
