The youth comment is really stating to get on my nerves. No **** were young. But they played almost a full season and they're STILL not in the right places...
I didn't watch the presser but I assumed youth was stated again, he has mentioned we are young in every presser over the last calendar year and will say it all of next year.

I was thinking about this on Saturday as I watched us **** yet another game down our leg.

I was fortunate enough to never be a part of losing teams in high school, so I can't really relate to what the players and coaches are going through. But man, how do you get up and excited anymore? What do you say to each other before, during, after the games? What do you say to the press?

That's all I could think of watching our 4th quarter and then after the game.

You would think that fear of losing your spot in a new system and new coaching staff would be enough motivation to get up for Saturdays.

No kidding. If a young team was going to become good they kinda need to be improving. We look like the same team as we did on August 30th.

He was ASKED the question. What should he say, "no comment?"

And they haven't played a whole season. Mills and Trent got their first starts. Meeks was back after not playing much since week 1.

maybe its me but i've found pretty much every football coach ever to basically just blurt out platitudes, cliches, and anything else that's blatantly obvious.

You obviously never heard this dude.

The youth thing is frustrating because it's his fault. We were young last year. How does that happen? You have to have a complete failure in recruiting/development.

Misses, injuries, attrition, and idiots getting in trouble.

Only one of those is not on Rhoads and it actually might be due to our S&C, who knows.

Hard too blame two consecutive years of injuries even when they seem very prevalent. You have to decide if you think it's a fluke or a pattern emerging.

I get the injuries excuse, and don't think it's really anyone's fault, just bad luck. It's how incredibly unprepared their backups look that is really the issue for me. Even Miller looked lost in his first start, and this year he was the anchor in that D. He had the ability, the coaches just got nothing out of it until midway through his Jr. year. I don't expect the back ups to be world beaters but looking semi-competant would nice.

We've just lost close games the past two years. We used to win them.

How much better do we feel about this year if we...

finished off K-State
found a way to pull it out in Austin
made our field goals in Ames this Saturday for Texas Tech

2-8 becomes 5-5 with a win over a Top 25 team and UT-Austin

We are probably saying we are glad to have Rhoads and looking forward to next year and the new Jack.

I know, coulda, woulda, shoulda, but a few plays here and there and our whole mindset is different.

That's beyond coulda shoulda woulda. That's the whole game of football. We've played what, 3 good football games all year? Maybe 4?

I hear what you are saying, but Rhoads has always found ways to lose close games. It just so happens that the first couple of years the close losses were overshadowed by a pretty big win each season. At that point, the sentiment was, I believe, more of a "He's got us competetive and will learn to win the close ones. Well, now the close losses are getting over-shadowed by complete melt-downs and his teams inability to come out and look prepared to play.

Wins, losses, honestly, those aren't really my reasons for flying the fire Rhoads flag. It's the fact that his teams continually look more lost on the field. Most teams, I would think, probably drool over a bye week, getting players healthy and two weeks to prepare for the next opponent. This staff seems to **** all over those ideas and continue to come out and look like absolute hell.

Plus, as others have said, injuries are injuries, but there has to be some accountability when your back-ups come in and looke like they just started playing their position yesterday.

As I've said all along, it really has nothing to do with wins and losses straight up. Firstly, it's just being able to look lik we belong on the field. Yeah, we've had a few flashes this year, but over all, we don't look like we belong in a Power 5 conference. Also, it's about being able to look at the teams and see improvements and hope for the future. The only thing I see now is that we will probably be worse next year.
