I'm on record as wanting CPR out now, but I can realistically see the Cyclones starting 5-0 next season. Wins after that will be tough to come by, but one upset to close out the year and Rhoads will have every opportunity to save his job.

I'll have what you're having. We will probably lose to UNI, they put on a killing to SFA. what makes you think we can beat them?

I expect next season to be significantly better, unless we have significant injuries at key positions once again. And before you all call me out for blindly supporting Rhoads, if I was in JP's position I'd let him go.

They lose their current starting QB, running back, and a chunk of receivers and lineman. Not to mention they lose their best defensive lineman and best two linebackers.

So did North Dakota State.

There is no way a team coached by Rhoads could start 5-0. He is not good enough at his job to do that. At best ISU starts at 2-3 with Rhoads and finishes at best 3-9.

I didn't say they'd start 5-0, I said they'll be better pending injuries, and I gave a reason why to expect we'd beat UNI.

The fact that people are actually pointing to wins over Stephen F Austin as a reason why a certain team will beat ISU is just ******* disgusting.

Only ISU fans could be staring down a 2-10 season in the face and predict 5-0 to start the next season...Seriously?

Only if we have the most amazing JUCO recruiting class ever, the introduction of Muschamp as DC or Saban as HC, or Sam Richardson turning into Marcus Mariota over the offseason are we going to start 2015 5-0. You have to be completely blind to the product on the field this year to believe that a 5-0 start is anything but a pipedream next year.

It happens every year. That's why our stadium is completely packed and full for the 1st few games then the last few games are played with a half empty stadium.

Have we proven otherwise that we can beat teams like this?

It's a ridiculous premise. Yeah, the program is garbage, but if anyone gives two flying ***** about a win over Stephen F. Austin they have gone completely overboard.

Here nor there
A good staff could start 5-0 next year. Sadly we are far away from that.

If some of those teams don't show up on gameday, we could get a couple wins out of those 5.

The comment should be that we have a realistic opportunity to get off to a good start.

Dear God, I don't want to think about the potential of a loss to UNI, but vs. Iowa, @ Toledo, vs. KU, and @ Tech are all tossup games. Maybe @ Toledo leans in our favor. The odds say 1 in 16 chance of winning all four of those games.

There is going to be so much pressure on the team in the UNI game. We really needed that game to have been against a nobody FCS. It may be sad but at this point I see UNI as being detrimental to the success of our program. We need a guranteed W in our FCS slot and until further notice, we don't have that with the caliper of a UNI program.

What was that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of my press with 12-0 t-shirts printing.

Let the hype begin!

But here's what's more likely to happen:

Preseason Prediction: 5-0
Reason: See OP

Game 1 - UNI - Loss
Reaction: "One game does not a season make"

Game 2- Iowa - Win
Reaction : "Told ya, Paul Rhoads was the man. See, he's turned the program around"

Game 3 - Toledo - Loss
Reaction : "That Toledo team is damn good. They're going to win their division"

Game 4- Kansas - Loss
Reaction : "You fans are cheapskates. We suck because you don't donate enough"

Game 5 - Texas Tech - Loss
Reaction : "It's easy to recruit Texas kids to TTU. Why don't you try and get Texas kids to Ames if you think it's so easy"
