As I reflect back on the 2013-2014 season, it seems to me that the Cyclone’s warrior like mentality may have lost a few battles, but their mental toughness allowed them to win the all-important war. Unfortunately, mental toughness did not seem to be the definitive description I would apply to the CBE Hall of Fame Classic finals. I know that offense puts people in the stands and defense wins games, but what I saw seemed to be a bit more like deer caught in the second half headlights.

That said, diversity doesn't build character, it reveals it and I am confident this team is full of players ready to pay the price to make their dreams become reality!
Diversity?

Remember when Kansas lost at TCU? Or to Villanova at Battle 4 Atlantis last year? I seem to think they did just fine. My goodness people need to calm down. It was one loss, to a good team (not great, but good) and will probably do more good than bad for team chemistry - this gives them something to rally around and build upon. Judging from the player tweets over the past week, I don't think this has slowed them down at all - they will want to make a statement going forward.

I'd rather go through adversity now than at the start of Big12 play like last year. I think we will be fine. Even with how bad we looked vs Maryland we still had some chances at the end of the game to come back.

That had more to do with who we played than being "cocky'" as someone mentioned above.

Road games against 2 of the top 4 and 2 games against Kansas. Not surprising to lose those most years, even with a very good team.
