Another thing I love about this thread.

In what other CF thread can you find a word like Euphemism used in four different posts on the same page?

I agree that it's boring, but you have to, you know, use constructive thinking. It does make sense if you actually contemplate the deeper meanings.
I guess, no one in my class is actually reading it. Everyone is either playing a game or watching a movie

No euphemism, Velo...pants has resorted to cute fruit props to snag the women...probably to distract from the high fat/muscle ratio.

Hey. You use what works.

Bad things happen when you stop working out (sticking with the Dodgeball movie theme).

Well why waste my time reading a damn book when I can google fahrenheit 451 sparknotes and find everything I need.

Because you need to learn how to pull the important things out of it before you go to higher learning. It teaches you to think. Even if you don't go to higher learning, you still need to know how to think critically for your future. Then you would know what short cuts work and which do not.

You sure aren't helping your case much, kid.

There will come a point in your life where you'll have to constructively think to make decisions, often very important ones, and Google won't be able to help you. It's a tool you're going to need to learn to hone and develop at some point.

Revkah beat me to it and said it probably much more eloquently.

And people wonder why we're all terrified of what's going to happen when today's youth enter the working world....
I love it, it means less competition for good jobs and besides, all economies need the uneducated masses. Keep it up BDK!

But seriously BDK, you need to have critical thinking skills because depending on your major, a lot of exams and paper will rely on you being able to think critically and not just knowing facts.

Random question for y'all.

Is Christmas fun for you? I keep hearing people mutter about some menial problem and then follow it up with that tired cliche "and that's why I hate the holidays"

My work really sucks leading up to holidays, but I still enjoy them. Even if I'm hosting an event and it takes a ton of prep work, I still look forward to them.

I understand if a tragedy happened around that time and you associate it with the event. Otherwise, what gives?

They are people that like to complain?

Hah! I love these out of the blue pronouncements, with no explanation behind them. Puts my imagination in overdrive.

I've been editing for the past two days. They provide candy to us. None was out yesterday but they found it today. A cup of skittles in front of me has no chance. Though the other girl and I don't like green and orange so those are all left behind.

You start creeping outside my window, WDSM, I'm releasing the foxhound. Only things he can't keep up with at the dog park are the retired greyhounds, and Vizslas and Weimaraners.

I consider myself an animal lover and I had never heard of a vizsla before. You made me learn something. Thank you

Thread is making me think of the scene from the original Time Machine where the books have all turned to dust and BDK is one of the Eloi. Since this is from an old H.G. Wells book that is over 100 years old it will not be relevant to BDK.
