What? It's all about money which means it's all about big names. TCU played a harder schedule than OSU and they both finished with one loss. ESPN's magical SOS formula is the only one with OSU ahead of TCU. If it were only about on field results, TCU would be in.

Take a look at the blind resumes of each of the top6 and let me know how it shakes out.
I've looked at other SOS rankings and literally the only place I've seen Ohio State ahead of TCU is on ESPN.
Also, usually when you talk about quality wins, you look at record vs. Top 50 or Top 25. ESPN used record vs. Top 60. That's a very arbitrary number. Want to know why they went from 50 to 60? IT HELPS OHIO STATE. 3 of the teams between 51-60 are B1G teams and only one is from the Big 12. If you look at Top 50, TCU and Baylor both have better wins against good teams. But when you look at top 60, Ohio State looks better.
Exactly. ESPN was extremely biased in their presentation of resumes. No idea where the SOS numbers are coming from.
You had to know that the hand picked committee was going to go for the $$$ if there was a reasonable way to justify it. I'd even go so far as to say the odd positioning of TCU over Baylor despite the head to head loss was preplanned.
This myth that Ohio State has a better SOS than TCU is out there and I have no clue why. I follow SOS rankings all year, TCU does not have a worse schedule than Ohio State.
What real non-doctored SOS rankings look like, and have basically looked like for the past six weeks:
10 spots is pretty insignificant, IMO, when you are in the 40's all bets are off. Who cares, it was close and OSU dominated a good opponent the last game of the year. It was not a total slight that people make it out to be. Schedule someone in the non-con with a pulse and make the SOS difference undisputable. Thats the solution. Or add a title game with 10 teams. Expansion should be the last resort at this point, unless you can steal a power 5 team.
10 spots higher is enough that ESPN shouldn't be saying they are LOWER!
TCU scheduled a top half Big Ten team. Do you not see the irony in that because it's pretty thick???
TCU dominated Minnesota which was a tougher opponent than anyone OSU played in the noncon.
Ohio State gets credit for Michigan State playing the most awesome 19 point loss that has ever occurred in sports. Just go with it.
Yeah, I would like to know what SOS rankings the committee used? And if they used ESPN's, why?
I wondered why ESPN looked at the top 60 teams, but now it makes complete sense. It helps Ohio State BIG time.
I'm convinced a Big 12 Championship game would not have mattered at all. There is no $$ to be made with a TCU or Baylor in there over Ohio State. That is what it all comes down to. $$$.
And until I hear one single ESPN "analyst" bring up $$$..... they are just talking gibberish nonsense. It's more about who you are than how good you are. If it were Texas and OU instead of TCU and Baylor, it would have been a lot different.... even though it shouldn't matter.
Comperable to Ohio State's best win. Their loss is better than OSU's loss. TCU's SOS is better in spite of ESPN's lie.
Common opponent, Minnesota could barely get a first down on TCU's defense.
