I fully expect fran to try to mimic what Maryland did against us. Edozie better be prepared to give us 10-15 minutes since I see Niang being attacked early and often defensively. I really like Monte keeping Gessell in check though.

White scares me a bit. His last two games against us, he has gone for 25pts 17 rebs and 18pts 7 rebs. Even though Hogue had a good game on the glass last year getting 16 boards, we were still outrebounded 49 to 35. We can't lose the rebound margin by that this year and expect to win. I'm betting there is alot of basket trading in the first half with Iowa holding a 5 pt advantage at half.

I agree they will try to mimic Maryland, who did a good job of frustrating us with their size. Hopefully shots are falling and we move the ball well, because it's harder to do that when we're getting and hitting open looks from 3.

Hogue/BDJ D'ing up on White will be our key defensively, as well as keeping Georges out of foul trouble.

Hogue is due for a bounce back game. I expect him to be a totally different player than we've seen recently.

Morris, Naz and BDJ SHOULD win the back court match up, but Iowa has really out played us in the backcourt the last two years.

Should be a great one.

I have a feeling of dread about this one I can't shake the performance of the team 2 years ago out of my head.

81 - 70, Iowa.

ISU gets in foul trouble and can't find their 3 ball in a tough environment. ISU makes a late comeback but Iowa makes their free throws down the stretch this time and pulls away in the final minutes as our desperation 3s brick.

We've lost in Carver before with significantly more talented teams than Iowa (2 years go for example). Had Iowa not beaten UNC I actually would have a worse feeling about this game. Don't know if the Hawks can score with us, but I do know they play better defense than us. I too wish we had McKay. With Iowa's length we'll need big minutes from Edozie and Nader.

I think Iowa wins.... I am really concerned about this game. It's their super bowl.

Iowa is playing quite a bit slower on offense this year than last, they also are playing better defense and really focused on contesting and running teams off the three point line. They've given up a lot of offense rebounds because of this but they've defended the three point shot very well. I think we will be able to find ways to score inside with Niang and Hogue and BDJ even if the three point shot isn't falling. I think the game will come down to whether or not Iowa can make outside shots.

This game likely comes down to who makes their free throws and who doesn't. For that reason alone, I am taking Iowa in a very close game.

I like our chances this year. Expect a comfortable win. We will score in the 76-82 area with the Hawks in the 65-69 range. I think they will lose to the Panthers also. Should be fun.

If Iowa takes the Maryland strategy they better hope we have a terrible night shooting again. We missed many open looks in that game, and if we'd even shot mediocre I think we'd have won by a few.

Also, while this is the NBA Finals to Iowa, don't discount how much Niang will get our guys up for this game. You can tell the rivalry means a lot to him, and I'm sure he's not happy they lost in CHA his freshman year. I think he gets everyone focused and BDJ has a big night. That being said, I still think it'll be close win that will have a bigger point margin than the game goes due to end game free throws.

I could see us starting out cold and being down at half. But claw back and end up winning by 6 or 8. but it'll feel closer than that.

81 - 74, or so. ISU

Anybody have a guess on match ups? Here's mine:

Monte <> Clemmons /Dickerson
Naz / Thomas <> Gessel / Ogs

BDJ <> White

DH / Edozie <> Olesani

Niang <> Woody

I guess my big question is will Fred have BDJ guard White?

????Does Olesani start over Uthoff for them? Seems like Uthoff played the entire game vs. UNC and Olesani played like 10 minutes.

Have you guys actually watched Iowa? They don't have a half-court offense. It just doesn't exist. Google "Iowa half-court offense" and your computer will crash.

Also, if Iowa holds the Clones under 70, I will record a video of myself eating a child and post it on here.

I predict Iowa will get to the free throw line a lot and we will be unhappy about it.
