So if I'm BDJ - think I'm heading home and beating the ever loving **** out of my brother for that tweet....

Not excusing - but they really were on their way to getting off on the whole thing. That post (provided it's legit) is pretty hard for Fred to ignore.

My personal opinion is that this could not have come at a worse time. If this was 2 months ago or even a month ago or hell, even 2 weeks ago, it could probably be taken care of internally. Now, the whole media in the state is buzzing, it will probably be a bigger distraction to have him on the court tomorrow.

So, I think we're at the point where you have to suspend him for some amount of time and move on.

Can we get DeAndre's mom to stop by and set him straight?

#focustown

DeAndre still managed to get his degree, then began looking for that fresh start.

The University of Pittsburgh showed interest. But Carol wanted her son to spend his final college season where he could regain his focus, and being back near old temptations of the Pittsburgh Hill District wasn't the answer.

Then Iowa State called.

So DeAndre and Carol went to visit.

"Driving in, I saw those cornfields, and you know what, I said this ain't nothing but focus town," Carol said. "This is where it's got to be. This is where my son could be successful."

Not going to lie. The brother (especially in light of that tweet) and the friend from LA sounds like it may be what Carol saw for DeAndre back in Pittsburgh

This is untrue, he was CBS College B-ball player of the week and newcomer of the week for multiple weeks before. There has been no internal beefs, this was just a bad situation. I think you are reaching for reasons to kick-off the team....

Admittedly, I probably chose my words wrong there. The point I was making is he's making the papers for the wrong reasons in addition to making them for his play. Thats great he's conference new comer of the year, player of the week, ect,. but thats not a free pass to be a jerk and continually screw up.

Am I reaching for reasons to get him kicked off the team? No, id like to think not. IM just adding outside perspective. The guy has had two tumultuous stops before getting to Ames, and even though he may not be beefing with his teammates and coaches, it looks like he still has behavioral issues. I guess it all boils down to- when is enough, enough? I dont have the answer to that, and I dont think anyone on here does either. It will be interesting to see what Hoiberg has to say in an hour or so.

I used Winston as an extreme example of an athlete that gets away with a bunch of crap and people look the other way.

The facts here are that BDJ had a stereo playing loud at 3 AM. And people make him out to be a terrible person for both staying up late and playing loud music. Some have even said he should be kicked off the team or suspended for up to 5 games. It's insane the overreaction and panty wringing over this.

Hell I stay up until 3 AM listening to movies pretty loud on my surround sound and I work 8-5 everyday and have a wife and two small children. Lock me up and throw away the key!

And if your wife or children complained about it, or if you'd had multiple run-ins with the police about it, or you had an agreement with your boss not to do it - and you continued to do it anyway, you'd face the consequences.

Just stop. This isn't that hard.

I've always wondered when the transfer "take chances" thing would somewhat backfire for Freddy and man..... I did not invision this type of explosion. Just think if Royce would have misbehaved here... :wideeyed:

Man, this just makes me jealous of Kansas and Kentucky where they have the Taj-ma-hall of dorm rooms just for their basketball players.

Either way it sounds like both kids are being dumb but BDJ certainly appears like a jerk. Fred will have to show him, especially after Royce, that if he really wants to get paid he's going to have to knock this crap off until he can at least afford his own house.

Read further. I guess he said it was loud, but didn't bother him. Probably was afraid to take action against a beloved athlete since so much of our fan base would go after him.
Or he realizes that he wasn't being excessively loud.

Jamies Winston still plays with all of his crap, yet we'll suspend (or some even suggest kick off the team) BDJ for being loud. I'm really tired of ISU and ISU fans being holier than thou with this crap.

Yeah, lets start letting loud people on our team because we can win that way! Pathetic how low some fans will stoop to see their team win.

How about just a visit from DKane to set him straight.

I just think you view seems too mainline media.... All local media is having a hay day with this, there was not drama leading up to this game, and nothing even news worthy now they dragging this story through the mud at all cost to get every bit of blood out of it that they can.....
