I'm a fan of ranking teams based on what they've done over how good they are projected to be, otherwise why play any games? We are clearly better than Maryland imo, but they beat us and have similar results early on. We'll pass them in time .
Also, Wisconsin and Wichita st should be ranked lower based on what they have done so far.

Further proof that Seth Davis is clueless. I don't think Iowa will be back to defend their play in game loss. They're back in the NIT.

wouldn't be surprised to see them back in the First Four @SI_Stephens: Where do you see Iowa at the end of the year?

Step and back and look at the big picture. It's totally possible and I think probably likely.

Iowa has lost to Texas, Syracuse and Iowa State....while I don't think they are a great team (and pry a step back from last year) its tough to tell so far. Last year their non conference schedule wasn't as tough but they still lost to every decent team they played. This year they at least beat UNC. Based on their results and a much weaker b1G, I don't think the tourney is unrealistic. Idk how anyone can think they are any better or worse than last season.

Totally agree on Wichita, Wisky won the toughest preseason tourney this year, I don't have much of an issue with how they are ranked.

I don't know how anyone could read the comment about Iowa back in the first four and not recognize that he is trolling iowa. Sure he is saying they will be back in the tournament...wait a minute no he isn't. Play in game...

Um, we are already past them. We're 13. They're 17/18. Davis is a Duke grad and east coast shill. But he has no issues with NC still being ranked.

They beat Georgetown and Oklahoma, Kansas beat @ Georgetown, Florida, Utah, Michigan st. Kansas should be higher based on results but since everyone thinks sconi is gonna demolish the b10 they get the higher rank.

Did you guys know that our games during Thanksgiving and Xmas break are neutral court games since we don't have a student section?

Well, the Iowa game at CHA could have been a home game for us, but they wouldn't let us put stickers on the court. Something about Gesell, Fran, and stickers.

[ It is true and we're not in much danger as its Less than 50%. This is the way it is every year for ISU. The penalty is assessed after the non-con so we will have 6 and 6 like most years. Its no coincidence. The schedule that way very consistantly and why we added he South Carolina game. ISU can Seldom affor more than a 7-5 split. But Our top 100 games will not drop out. we are garanteed to have a 6-6 split. I'm not concerned in the slightest. MD on the other hand will not come close to sniffing 50%. 0 chance. If they are lucky they may be at 33%. Tha is going to hurt a bit.
What is this magical penalty you are talking about? Who is assessing it and what are they assessing it to? And did you struggle with my easy math that showed that ISU is 100% guaranteed to not have less than 50% of their games against RPI 150 or better at the end of the non-con season? 6-6 IS 50%, not LESS than 50%. Good grief.
