Major projects:

Widening the outer concourse, removing innner concourse.

Lesser projects:

New ceiling (current one looks awful) and lighting (upgrade for higher efficiency and ability to turn lights on and off quickly). Bonus if you throw in a floor projection system.

Id like to see the rest of the inner concourse painted like the ends have been this season. Looks better.

A new video board is probably on the list in the next few years sometime i'd imagine. Ours will hit the 10 year mark before long i think.

Cosmetic/technological updates are the only things that should be done. As an engineering school with a strong design program, we should be able to have the lights dim/off to start out the games and then come up once introductions are done. Would help make midnight madness more fun too.

Better seats, maybe brighten up the concrete somehow (paint/coatings to freshen the look) and getting some better food options in there are about all I would change.

We don't want to pull an OSU and take a previously amazing environment (Gallagher-IBA) and then add on and have it be a shell of it's former self.

In short, keep the magic contained in the same bottle...just give it a new look.

Yes to the lights. They turn them down for introductions for gymnastics meets.

I was thinking about this....if Pollard is doing the South End Zone Project for a coach that has a terrible record and wins about 4 games, or less per year, what is the dept. going to do for a coach that is actually winning and winning big games in the conference and in the post season? Line it with gold? Add a 3rd deck? Knock it down and make it twice the size?

Make it 1 Louder.

Agreed. Adding these boxes would have that effect I think. Have to keep students where they are at this point, also. Otherwise let's just play all home games at Wells Fargo Arena.

I was at hilton for my brothers graduation on saturday and i noticed they added some new graphics on the inner concourse wall. I don't know when they were added but I think they look nice.

Johnny's is being expanded the length of the coliseum, and its much needed.

Was wondering what the Johnny's renovation project was that is listed under pending projects on FP&M active capital projects. That will be nice and I'm sure there is enough demand for it.

They do it for football because that sport (nationally) has schools over a barrel, and they have to invest everything they can just to be included.

Basketball doesn't have that sort of thing going just yet. When football collapses, that trend might spill over to basketball.

Adding luxury seats to the inner concourse is probably the most cost efficient thing to do. Fairly minor in terms of construction. And quite lucrative in terms of new revenue.

I like Hilton just the way it is. Minor cosmetic stuff and expanding/upgrading Johnny's is fine though.

I agree with all of this, with the added idea that others have mentioned to add some luxury boxes where the inner concourse currently is.

Everything on here should be part of the next big AD project after the SEZ is finished. Maybe do this work after the end of the '15-'16 season.

Hilton is fantastic, but showing its age just a little. A few of these relatively minor upgrades would go a long way.

Adding more seats or luxury boxes would be difficult and very costly. I think the most likely changes in the future (if the basketball success continues) will probably be to expand the outer concourse into the outdoor patio areas by moving the glass out and enclosing the patios. Obviously, this could help to increase the concessions and merchandise available (which makes the Athletic department money) and there could be additional patron services added like bathrooms or whatever.

Both of these ideas have been discussed in the past, but the money was never there, and the need was questionable.

They don't really need more seats. They need luxury seats. I think it is just a matter of time until they do something with the inner concourse. For instance, I could see them breaking out the inside wall of the concession stands in order to use that space in conjunction with the luxury seats where the inner concourse is now. They might also do something to put some concession stands outside the existing outer concourse. It would take some work to make all this look good, but you have to think it is all on its way because of the need for luxury seating.
I like the way you think. Adding suites probably wouldn't add seats as they would need to take some of the current balcony seats to make it happen-but there is demand. I have also thought they should widen the outer concourse and put the concession stands on the outside to improve traffic. If they put in suites they would have to since the space the current concessions are would be suites

A parking ramp would be pretty nice
So we are going to put in a ramp to replace some of our parking lot which also removes Tailgating, the one thing that makes ISU football tolerable?

I have thought about that as well.
