Reinforce the ceiling with more concrete to amplify the sound that gets reflected back down onto the court.

the one thing I really dislike is the 'lounge and camera' area on the inner concourse up from midcourt, it looks really tacky. I love the inner concourse but wouldn't mind if one of the four sides had boxes.
I experienced the pregame intro without lights for the first time in WFA last weekend, I was disappointed. I always thought it would be nice in Hilton, I guess not anymore.
New scoreboard?
Make Hilton Coliseum on top of the court so camera can see it?
Iowa watermark on court behind ISU logo?

I was thinking about this....if Pollard is doing the South End Zone Project for a coach that has a terrible record and wins about 4 games, or less per year, what is the dept. going to do for a coach that is actually winning and winning big games in the conference and in the post season? Line it with gold? Add a 3rd deck? Knock it down and make it twice the size?

Hilton is Division 1 Power 5 level. Jack Trice is not. As others have noted, there are improvements that can be made but these things have little to do with who is coaching and the record. The end zone project has SOME to do with the attendance (which has been pretty good regardless of record).

Altering Hilton structurally in any way would be the demise of JP IMO. It is structurally designed perfectly for a great acoustic sound, which is why it was the premier concert location in the state for decades. I think the new arena in DSM took over that now mostly. Don't mess with Hilton....Ever.

Certainly Hilton needs luxury suites for more revenue production. Illinois is doing this with their renovations to Assembly Hall.
But over and above that:
1. New lobby/atrium on the south side, to reduce congestion and to provide room for bball HOF and audio/visual histories of our bball, wrestling, and volleyball programs.
2. More elevators on ground floor. We currently have one. Terribly congested before/after games. Need a bank of 3.
3. Parking ramp would be nice.
4. Restaurant open to the public with normal operating hours would be nice.

Yes, we need to do something like Illinois is doing:

Was wondering what the Johnny's renovation project was that is listed under pending projects on FP&M active capital projects. That will be nice and I'm sure there is enough demand for it.

It has been really crowded for about every game this year, and we haven't really had a big game yet. The demand is definitely there and that is awesome because its a nice chunk of money.

expanding the outer concourse and adding a new entrance/atrium to it wouldn't mess with the atmosphere inside hilton, so that might be okay.

You could turn the concourse into seats, but then where would all the hippies dance?

I think we leave it as is and give the money to Hoiberg! Make him the highest paid coach and keep on building this thing!

If there is one thing we should add would be the naughty telletubby girls from the Kansas game last year or just a place for the hippies to keep on dancing!

1. New lighting and high tech intro system 2. Luxury boxes that don't reduce seating that go in the now inner concourse
3. New video board in a few years. Maybe an extra ribbon board up top?

Don't touch the interior. I wouldn't complain if they gave the outside a makeover

Add a couple of Final Four/Championship banners and Hoiberg's name to the court and call it a day.

This.

How 'bout we hang another Big XII Championship banner and a Final Four for good measure.

Then the interior decorators on this thread can have at it.
